Loving Life after 50

Poconos

This evening as I was stalking reading some of the blogs that I follow regularly, I started thinking about travel and all the great places I have been.  Hmmm, maybe I should be posting a few reviews.
This fall we booked a condo in the Pocono’s. What a fantastic place, it had everything one could want, fall foliage, outlet shopping, great golf, fantastic people and only an hour and a bit away from New York City.
We found a few vineyards, a few micro breweries and lots of great people, and many houses I fell in love with and wanted to buy. We are planning on going back next fall but will actually take an overnight trip to NYC not just a quick day trip ( the bus service from Poconos to NYC is fantastic)

The Condos:  Treetop Villas. We really enjoyed this place, some of the reviews on line were not great but we found it lovely. No question some of the units are dated but good lord people what are you expecting, we had a three story two bedroom villa that was more than comfortable and a great price.

Golf course was fantastic, some very tricky and tough holes but beautiful views. WE were there the first week of October and it was sunny and warm ( heck it was hot, hot ,hot).
We fit in three rounds of Golf, two at Fernwood and one round at the Golf course at Pocono Manor.
Got to golf with some really terrific people.

Craft Beers and fantastic food at Barley Creek Brewery,

Bushkill Falls

More craft beer and delicious food (all local) at Gem and Keystone

Tasting at Sorrenti Vineyards, a family owned winery in Cherry Valley, they have a new brick pizza oven that the owner is quite proud of and rightfully so. We enjoyed the grounds, enjoyed the food and of course enjoyed the vino

Our little friends who joined us on the 14th fairway every evening
More winetasting at Mountainview Vineyard

Quick day trip into New York City

Have to say I was very excited to find a Tim Hortons in NYC,

Back side of the Condo, on the 14th Fairway

The great specialty shops, candy stores, candle shops, Christmas shops…lots of cool places

Finally the little house I fell in love with, cannot explain the why but I just loved this place and I wanted/want it, tried very hard to find out the listing details but could never make out the actual name and number on the sign.  If you are in the Poconos look up this place in Bushkill for me….
