Hey all you wonderful Bloggers… Time to meet Amanda
1. CAN YOU TELL US A LITTLE ABOUT YOURSELF?
I’m Amanda, and I was born and raised in Indiana but I now live in Fargo and am embracing life as a newlywed! I was married in June 2013, and my blog is where I share my views, thoughts, emotions and observations as a new wife. I love cats, cupcakes, reality TV, grammar, the color teal, so-bad-they’re-good movies, cheese, making lists and being married.
2. How you first got involved in with blogging?
I started blogging in November last year. A few months after I was married, it just hit me how much I had learned in the past year or so, and I wanted a place to share all of that.
3. What do you find most challenging about blogging about your topic?
I have plenty of topics; I keep a running list of all ideas I have to write about, and probably won’t run out for quite awhile! The hardest thing is simply finding the time to write it all! Somehow work, errands, family and friend commitments, and life just gets in the way of accomplishing anything else. If someone knows how to live without sleep, let me know because I want in on that.
4. What do you do when you aren’t working on your blog?
Aside from working, doing housework, cooking and running errands, I also do some freelance writing and volunteer for my local dog rescue group. And aside from that, you’ll otherwise find me plopped on the couch watching trashy reality TV and snarfing chips and dip. That’s my guilty pleasure.
5. Everyone has a favorite/least favorite post. Name yours and why?
For sure my least favorite post was the one time I filled out a Blogmopolitan profile. It still is my least-viewed post, and even I feel ashamed I even did it. I put zero love or effort into it, and only posted it because that day I didn’t feel like writing a real post. (hangs head in shame) My favorite is a recent one when I “interviewed” my husband on the blog. It was hilarious.
6. Name some of the bloggers whom you look up to and why?
For sure, my biggest blogging inspiration is Amberly from Life with Amberly and Joe.
I think she does such a wonderful job at her blog, and on top of that she is genuine, sweet and so thoughtful. She’s mentored me a lot already, and I feel like she is my blogging mom, haha. She is just so full of wisdom! I also really love Jade & Oak
as far as big blogs, and for small ones, Katie at A Beautiful Little Adventure
is my favorite as well. I feel like I most relate to her and want to be her real-life friend.
7. If someone was interested in blogging, what would be a few things you would suggest?
First off, follow some rules, but don’t worry about doing it all, because you’ll stress yourself out, and that makes blogging not fun. So be yourself, be genuine, and that is the best strategy. Then, participate in linkups, and be kind and share the blog love:)
