Loving Life after 50

Scotch Cakes

It’s Saturday and that means it is cookie time… who doesn’t love cookies on Saturday? Or any day for that matter.  The sad news is this is the last of my preplanned Christmas Cookie Recap, yes unfortunately I only made and took pictures of 12 types of cookies and squares this year. I think I was a real slacker. If you go on the “Baking” label on my sidebar you can review and enjoy all the recipes ( apologies that I just discovered picmonkey and resizing pictures well into this series, but the recipes still work regardless.)

1 lb of butter
1 1/2 cups icing sugar
5 cups flour

Mix and work together
( I usually beat butter first, slowly add in icing sugar, then add flour gradually)

Roll out and cut into various shapes.

Bake at 300 for 30 minutes.

Frosting:

4 cups icing sugar
1/2 cup shortening
5 Tbsp of milk
Vanilla

mix all together, add food colouring as desired

(modification to make smaller batch of frosting)
1 cup icing sugar
1tbsp butter
Vanilla
1 tbsp milk
Enjoy, on a side note I did make these for Kents 50th Birthday in the shape of guitar pics.
