Loving Life after 50

Feeling like a Princess

Marks necklace

Well it may be casual Friday to the rest of the world but for me today or at least today’s post is Princess Day.  Taking you back to the night of our Convention Formal Banquet.

This year time just got away from me and with the hectic schedule of the Bluesfest just before convention I forgot to go dress shopping. holy moly, WTF, yea, you heard me, I forgot to go shopping. So off to Windsor we went and I took the ole standby Black Dress and bronze/sequin strappy heels and figured I would make do. Lord, make do…..I am not sure make do and Linda go together especially for special occassions

Well me being me, no can do, I had to at least try so while Kent was working on Tuesday I zipped out to the mall.  Swear to you I must have tried on every dress in every store and could not find anything.
I was ready to give up, it was 6:00 I was expected to the President’s Reception for 7:00, but there it was H & M, so what the heck let’s see if they have anything….. and boy did they. I found two dresses, this pretty pink number and a sage green chiffon one shoulder number, and both were, get this on sale for $40.00, yea 4…0… forty dollars.
I am still kicking myself that I did not get both.

So found the dress now what, stopped at payless and found some silver sandals for 29.00 and the most amazing clutch for $7.00,  can you hear the glee in my voice, this whole outfit for 75.00 and the necklace ( marks old) and earrings ( Le Chateau old)

Honestly I felt like a princess in this dress, it was so feminine and flirty, yet the classic style… overall I think this is one of my favourite formal dresses that I have purchased. Now trying to figure out where to wear this next and where can I find the green sage one.

Stay tuned to later (another post) when I walk you step by step through my Hair Updo, and when I say walk you through I actually mean show you pictures of the various steps the Stylist took. ( and that is a story in itself, last minute appointment because yep forgot to do that as well and the Dry Parlour Inc in Windsor did not disappoint)

Every girl needs strappy silver glitter sandals.

And then there was this, a 7.00 clutch and the added bonus of little skulls and a ring handle. I was concerned that the skulls would be a bad mix but it all worked so well together.

Me and my handsome guy.

So all in all not bad for a casual Friday?
