Loving Life after 50

The Woes of Blogging

The woes of a blogger who posts outfit pictures….. Fall.
Today was not my day, not a great day to be wearing new shoes that I wanted to show off that is for sure, first off it started raining.. not just this morning but it started again at 5:00 just after I got home and tried to fit a few outfit pictures in.  So it’s not bad enough that it is now to dark in the mornings before I leave for work but then you add rain after work…. and to top it off I am still trying to figure out how to focus the DSLR so I do not have to use Ipad pictures.  There is no question that the pics from the DSLR ( when in focus) are far superior to my Ipad but for some reason I get blurry pictures. I have to use the self timer because the wireless romote will not work with my Canon Rebel, so with little time to brush up on my skills this is all I could get before the rain completely took over and ruined my hastily arranged photoshoot.

Fall, a time of darkness for those of us who work an 8:00 to 4:00 schedule, dark when we leave, dark when we get home.  What is a blogger to do? try and take all your pictures on the weekend?? Take indoor shoots??? Pros and cons to both I guess.  I am really not for the weekend shoots as how then do you know what I really wore,  its not my life blog if I am not true to my fashion self right?? Let’s not even get started on snow and freezing temperatures.  I really need to learn how to not only take good indoor shoots but I need some editing software for awesome backgrounds LOL.

On a positive note I finally got my fall/winter clothes all out and the spring/summer packed away… its like a treasure hunt remembering everything you purchased last year…..Do you keep all seaons clothes out all the time or do you store out of season items?? Do you love the feeling of unpacking last years fashions ( but hate trying them on just in case you have changed shape??

  • Linda, those Roses Rainboots actually rock. When those boots weren't in style, like 4-5 years ago, i was looking to buy some like a maniac, but all was seeing, were those old fashioned ugly ones. Now you have huge variety of cute prints & designs.
Do women wear rainboots with summer dresses in Canada? I think it was a big trend here in Germany about 2 years ago. It was quite funny to look at, but at the same time, totally practical…
Ps – that sweater is too cute. πŸ™‚

  • I like the last two pictures were you're wearing your jacket! and if you do find out how to focus your DSLR, please post the solution, that happens to me too. :/ (try adding flash, that sometimes automatically makes pics better).

  • All the woes of blogging and you look lovely. I love/am lusting over both of your leather pieces and that cute pup sweater and stunning plaid shoes, but especially the 2 black leather pieces. I bought all of the animal sweaters from Old Navy last year except the one with the dog. Now I wish I had. And don't worry, my photos aren't the highest quality but I think my personality makes up for them (I hope) LOL.

  • I hear you … but really, both pair of shoes are great, the pumps and the rain boots πŸ˜‰

  • Lightroom is a good edit software you can try. I take indoor picture a lot and use lightroom to play around with the lighting of my pictures. Also with your camera you might have to go in and change your setting. That what help for me. On another note. I so love your plaid shoe. Also jealous of your sweater. I so want it but it sold out last year. Now I sent my friend on a hunt for the animal sweater that walmart came out with this year.

  • Those are some great plaid shoes! Thanks for sharing them despite the rain & camera problems. I do take my outfit pictures in the morning but it's already light out when we take them. Good luck with your photos!

P..S. Hope you will stop by and join TBT Fashion link up.

  • I LOVE that sweater – I wish it was still around! And the shoes are amazing too. I still take pics with my iPhone, so I can't help with the camera problems. πŸ™‚

  • Those plaid shoes and the rain boots are awesome and love the puppy sweater so cute:) and even with the rain you still look great!

  • Oh my gosh, how stinkin fun are your outfits! #gogirl πŸ™‚

  • Sorry for all the stress that went along with this shoot. No fun! At least you looked cute and were able to document it! Ha! Maybe try getting a point and shoot camera when you take your own photos…that way you won't have to worry about the focus part. Just a thought! πŸ™‚

  • Love those heels and those boots…cute! P.S. Change the dslr into manual mode and focus it onto a stationary spot (a wall, doorway, etc), then when it beeps (focuses), push the button all the way down to set the continuous shot and move over to where you focused the camera. This is what I do! It takes some practice to get the distance, settings right, but it works!

  • That sweater is so cute. I think the only thing better would be an actual puppy!

  • Really nice! πŸ™‚
