Loving Life after 50

Weekend Review

Busy weekend, I took Friday off in an attempt to catch up on my Christmas Decorating.  I cannot believe how far behind I am, the boys are coming tomorrow and as of now I am maybe halfway through the decorating.  I confess I may go a tad overboard and yea it does take some time to get the house all done. This year I started with the tree, figured I would put the tree up Friday and if it was still standing on Sunday I could start putting the lights and decorations on it.  The new cat is a tad more rambunctious, on a positive note it was still standing so yes I finally got the tree completed.
Friday I put the tree up, and yes I use a DVD Box as a means of elevating the tree, I hate the fact the you get no clearnce under a tree for the presents so I lift it about six inches and cover with the tree skirt.

Once the tree was completed I moved into the hallway to decorate the staircase, something about garland and ribbon that may it so very festive, and I cannot say enough good things about decomesh,

Took a break from inside on Sunday because hallelujah the temps went above freezing, took the fall decorations off the wreath and “christmazized” it.

Back inside top finish the tree and found a helper, she has great taste but not as productive as she could be.

We do have more than one tree in the house and the one in the living room is all mine,  all pinks, burgundies and golds with a bit of cream.  I usually use all red LED lights but this year I noticed  Canadian Tire had Pink so….. off I went and purchased all new lights for the tree.  I went from girly to GIRLY… the lights are pink but appear more mauve/purple at night.

  • I own similar leggings and I must now try them with a beanie and a dark neutral sweater dress because I love your look. Also, that tree is gorgeous. Your home looks cozy, pretty and perfectly ready for the Holidays. You did great and I pinned!

  • Linda, nice job with a GIRLY tree 🙂
It's funny to me that you think you're behind with Christmas decorating on Nov. 24th. This year my husband and I moved 30 minutes away on Nov. 28th, so we hadn't even thought about Christmas decorations on the 24th!
Thanks for sharing at the Retro Re-Pin Party 🙂 I hope to see you there next week. This has been pinned to our party board to inspire everyone else who wants a pink tree.
