Today was such a gorgeous day that I even let Kent convince me to not just take a lunch break but to eat outside the office at the picnic tables. A lunch time picnic in downtown Ottawa. Too often lately I have been scarfing down lunch at my desk or skipping it all togteher, forgetting that stopping for a break actually makes for a more productive day. No wonder I have been so tired.
New jobs are exciting but they sometimes lead to bad habits like skipping lunch and breaks.. we sometimes forget that there is a reason to take a break, it provides a fresh perspective, allows you to catch your breath and overall creates a healthier work environment. Please don’t be a me.. be the person we are all supposed to be, savour the new job and opportunity but remember to take time for yourself or you will quickly tire out. My bad habits are stopping and I am going to get back to enjoying the lunch hour outside, taking the deep breath and remembering, I do not want to be remembered for how long I worked, but I do want to be remembered for how happy I was when I worked.
Breaking out the spring clothes is so fun, its like rediscovering a whole new wardrobe. This is a fun suit I found last year at Forever 21. I wore it a few times last summer but with a bright floral, I thought I would tone it down this time. This is truly a transition outfit. Still needing to wear flats as my ankle is still swollen and sore, but the oxfords from Shoe Dazzle match perfectly.
Do you love rediscovering your spring/summer wardrobe? Do you enjoy finding new ways to style old pieces? I do, I mean I truly love buying new but I take great delight in finding ways to make something I have had for a bit look entirely new and different.
