Moral of the story learn all the new tricks to your new technology

4 easy steps to mastering hashtags on Instagram

Instagram is one of my secret sinful pleasures, I love scrolling through and searching the various hash tags. Now I have always been envious of those who utilize all the hash tags they should and get mega amounts of likes. I know getting likes is all about giving likes but there is no question appropriate use of #hashtags is required as well.  For me, I suck at qwerty, no really I am not as efficient on my IPhone or Ipad as many others so typing a lot of hash tags has always been an issue. Often I would just give up and go with what I had.

Do you use a lot of hash Tags, any quick tricks? Well I just discovered by spending a few minutes setting up shortcuts I would save tons of time every evening when I was posting my outfit picture to Instagram. Are you ready for Inst Freedom?  Are you ready to step up your Insta Game? Well ….

1) Step one is finding the settings app on your phone….( and don’t judge my Inbox I am a tad bit behind)

 2) Once you hit the settings, look for ” General”

 3) Under General, you then want to find Keyboards, and then shortcuts

4) Under the shortcuts( or Text replacement, this depends on Iphone or I pad)you will click (+) and then….

You will see a screen that has Phrase and shortcut.  Under Phrase add all the #hashtags you want and then under shortcuts name the group.  For me as an example I named a group Fashion and under this I added my normal fashion hashtags.  Now on my Instagram post when I type the work Fashion all the hashtags are instantly populated.  How amazing is that? I also created groups for ” Daily” ” Normhas” each having significance to topics I normally post about.  Remember you are still limited to thirty so be careful with your combinations but this is such an easy hack that is now saving me time nightly, and we can all use extra time I am pretty sure.

Try it and tell me if you like it, or if you need assistance just shoot me a note and I will do what I can.

  • Lovely outfit! And that's such a good tip about the Instagram tags!! I've wrote all mine down in my 'notepad' in my phone and just copy and pasting them lol!

  • Awesome tip. I've set up shortcuts for my website and email but hadn't thought to do it for hashtags. Like the commenter before me, I've been copying and pasting from my note pad. Your hack idea is going to make posting to IG so much easier. Thanks
