Happy Hump Day Peeps, and I am almost back to normal and am busily preparing for our big Tragically Hip Party on Saturday ( or the day otherwise known as Kent’s Birthday. Yes it’s true I just jump from one party, to an event, to another party.. that is life when you grow up.
Notice anything about the pictures? Anything? Yep no blue sock…. I am brace free and today I took a walk on the wild side with a pair of wedge heels from Giant Tiger. Now before you get to excited and run to the nearest GT Boutique to get your own fabulous pair I have to confess these are a few years old. GT Boutique is inexpensive but not cheap, real difference there folks. I have had these awesome sandals and this sundress for awhile ( the dress is ten years old.. I know how cray cray is that).
The sandals are great because the ankle strap is actually giving me some additional support so I don’t get crazy. This was a fun outfit to celebrate my return to real shoes and a fitting outfit considering the fact that Giant Tiger was a major sponsor at the Retreat last week, so lets rush through the outfit pics and get to some serious talk.
PS Did I mention the weather totally changed today and we are getting 60mm of rain. Seriously hasn’t rained all summer and now this.
So #letsgorama and talk about one of my all time favourite retailers. Giant Tiger, totally Canadian and originating in Ottawa. I actually can tell you stories of how when I traveled to Ottawa on Union business 20 years ago I always made a special trip to the By-ward Market and the GT Store. I have been a fan for years and when I discovered they were a sponsor well……
To start the amazing experience were some lovely gifts from GT, a gorgeous blanket scarf ( cant wait for fall) a notebook, a gift card ( #letsgoshopping) and some gourmet jelly beans. Funny thing is I was checking out these beans my last trip to GT so hello anxious to try. For the recors they were subsequently opened for movie night and yes they were delicious.
Tuesday morning we had the pleasure of meeting Karen Sterling, VP of Marketing at Giant Tiger
( actually I had the pleasure of sitting with Karen at the amazing dinner Monday night). Karen spoke to us about Stayling Relevant in an ever changing Market ( something GT has done very well). I took so many notes and tweeted so many of her hashtags can we say fangirling…. but her comments were so on point and provided me with a wealth of information. I look forward to implementing many of her suggestions.
and then we previewed some of the new lines, Karen brought a selection of woman’s clothing that were drool worthy. I am so excited to head out and see what I can find for myself. Also looking forward to checking out the fringe ankle boots I found on line.
and then we have the kids line… one previously I may have skipped over but now with a new baby
( not mine peeps) on the way in October, well I guess Carly’s little “bean” will be stylish in GT. Who knew there were so many options for boys… I mean I knew girls stuff but GT also has a great selection for the little guys. I am hoping they expand the collection of infant bedding before Fall. Glamma’s are allowed to go over board and when its from a Canadian Store, well lets keep the economy going right?
and just in case you are interested there may be a Twitter Party on the 18th that you want to check out.
