Last September ( boy that sounds so long ago) I flew to Saint John for a Baby Shower for Carly. Well interesting things happen when all the mom’s on all the sides plan together. Nautical has so many variations but thankfully every ones themes seemed to blend together perfectly. We have a tradition in our family, seems all showers regardless of baby or wedding need to be celebrated in our Church Hall. Do you do that? Are Showers community affairs? The plus side is we are very familiar with the room/gym and know the kitchen inside out, downside it is a gym so for pretty you need to focus in. It helps if you have even planned a school dance in the gym so you can totally relate to the concrete walls and fun floor.
I already shared the full Shower details, a Study in Nautical but I went a little off the beaten trail when I realized the tables needed a little something extra. With not a lot of time because the Shower was only hours away I took a detour to the local dollar store and created a fun little display for all of the tables.
For my Mom’s retirement party I had filled mine glasses/martini glasses with jelly beans and and cascading beads, the issue now was what could work for a baby shower? I thought baby bottles and sucky cups filled with candy would be perfect and would use baby facecloths as an anchor. I then went to the Bulk Barn and loaded up on jelly beans, skittles and a few other fun colourful candies.
We filled all the cups and bottles and placed them on facecloths on the tables. I added a few teething rings and pacifiers and a few nicnacs and then we had a fun little converstaion piece. They were a huge hit. Something quick and easy to pull together and not a major cost. Plus now she has extra bottles, sippy cups etc if she needs them
Little Sea- Bass was pretty impressed ( well we think he was he actually has not confirmed that yet)
