Toronto and the Distillery District During CMW

exploring the 416 and the distillery district

Let’s visit the Distillery District. It’s Travel Tuesday, oops well it is while I am typing this but not when I am posting.  Thought it might be fun to incorporate a bit of travel with an outfit.  During CMW2017 we had a chance to go exploring in the rain.  This is one of those got better pictures of scenery than I did of the outfit.

April 20th, what a miserable, cold day it was and oh yea the last day I had for awhile with no tooth aggravation.  This was the day before my troubles started. I had been to the Distillery District at Christmas but it was crazy busy and hard to get pictures.  Go figure, Christmas in the Distillery District is a big deal in the “6”.  I get it really I do, it was pretty spectacular and although I hoped to get back my training ended early so I grabbed an earlier flight.

CMW seemed the perfect opportunity to go back, I figured a Thursday would be less busy.  However, I did not count on cold and rain.  We had a great brunch at El Catrin and then I stopped to snap a few pictures.  YUMMMMM I love their fish tacos.  No Margarita this time but I did have an amazing cucumber mint drink.

The Distillery District is a commercial and residential district in Toronto, Ontario. Located east of downtown, it contains numerous cafés, restaurants, and shops housed within heritage buildings of the former Gooderham and Worts Distillery. The district comprises more than forty heritage buildings and ten streets, and is the largest collection of Victorian-era industrial architecture in North America.

Wall Murals

Toronto also has an amazing collection of Wall Murals. Every where you walk you may find a stunning backdrop or two.  If only I had a few of these in my neighbourhood to help showcase outfits.

Pulling back from outfits for a minute just check out the CN Tower in the background.  Imagine how spectacular it would be on a sunny day, playing basketball on this court.

Back in the District the Instagram opportunities are endless.  Kent was trying to console this poor Leaf’s player.  Apparently he knew they were not going to last in the playoffs..

I really need to get back on a sunny day when there are no crowds.  So many amazing sites to see.

Outfit

Really thought I was going to be able to wear spring attire but thankfully I did include a sweater and my leather jacket.  Wearing striped pants from Forever 21 with a checked shirt ( totally covered by a boyfriend cardigan) and my leather moto jacket.  Wore my converse but \i really should have worn my hunters ( it poured). 7 Charming Sisters helped put a shine in my step ( or in my outfit)
