Does it surprise you? Were you Fore warned that I might want to create a Fathers Day Table? And on that note I am just to funny, chalk it up to the sarcastic humour from the Guardians movie inspiring me. This weekend I needed to change my Derby Table and instead of Spring themes I figures Dad’s Day would be perfect.
Do you pamper Dad on his big day? We normally go the BBQ route but that is not an excuse not to have a perfect table. This one is easy because it also would work out on the patio. For 2017 I went with the Golf Theme. Honestly the theme was predetermined by the napkin folds because I so wanted to conquer this one. It’s not a green jacket for the Masters but it sure does look like a Golf Shirt.
I used each of the Major’s to create the place cards. PGA (Championship), Masters, British Open and US Open. Plus I added a bit of a golf theme before everyone’s names. Water hole, Sand Trap, 19th hole, Club House, you can get creative on this one but it makes it fun. If I had been a little more on the ball I would have tried to use old score cards. Now if I could only work on my calligraphy or penmanship. I guess I need a cricut machine to really up my table settings. I used Easels to hold the name cards because I could not figure out how to create Flag Holes. Next time, expect even more elaborate place cards.
Golf Table Centrepiece
The Golf Centrepiece was the easiest. I remembered I had my Dad’s old bar set, I believe I got this for him the last Christmas he was with us. I have never used it but I have held on to it always. It’s a memory for me and one even more special now. I kept the two ” Grass Squares” as a base and then raided the real life golf bags for balls, tees, score card pencils and hats. We are golfers so this part was easy
Golf Shirt Napkins
Aren’t the napkins just the cutest thing ever? This is the first fold in a long time that it took me a while to master. I figure if I found it complicated I need to create a better tutorial so stay tuned. I will link up the tutorial post and the youtube video as soon as they are ready.
