RBC Bluesfest has been happening here in Ottawa since July 7th but we have not yet made it to the Festival. Tomorrow that changes. Gary Clark Jr, notably the best blues player in the world is playing, and we will be there. It will be a tad strange as I actually have not attended to just watch a show in over eight years. All the time spent volunteering meant my actual wondering the festival participating decreased. I really am looking forward to cruising the grounds and checking out the site.
The one positive about volunteering was I had a place to store enough clothing and footwear for any type of weather. Now my focus needs to turn to what to wear to cover my options. Festival wear when you are 50+ may not be the same as 20+. That is not an ageism statement at all but rather one of comfort and concern. My internal voice keeps comparing 20 year old Linda to 50 Year Old Linda.
Festival Wear Shoes
Flip Flops or cute strappy sandals, I mean honestly it’s supposed to be warm and they match my outfit perfectly.
Converse cuz I need my toes covered, all those crowds and people stomping everywhere. But hello they do match my outfit
Festival Wear Shirt
This cute little crop top/cami/fringe vest is perfect and I can still get a tan
Hmmm temperature is going to drop tonight so I need a Jacket/sweater/long sleeves. Stylish is great but I need to be warm and protected from bugs
Those denim cut offs are adorable and I look great in them
What if it gets cold tonight, maybe I should wear pants
Age vs Comfort
Darn it when did I become that person. I need to be boy scout prepared for verything but I don’t want to look old. The issue is real folks, WTH is festival appropriate anymore? Stay tuned no hints because I honestly have no clue what I am wearing.
For today and tooling around town I stuck to shorts and a cami ( just not short shorts). I have been out shopping every day over my newest obsession Rae Dunn Pottery. In Canada we can only get it at Home Sense, Winners or Marshalls. I am so totally addicted. Kent thinks I need to get back to work and stop the shopping. Have you seen this stuff?
Good Bye Ford Focus
Today I also say good bye to my little Focus. It’s been a great week and I am so very grateful to have had the opportunity to test drive this baby.
