Loving Life after 50

If I could Turn Back time

pretty in pink and a fancy chignon

I have actually been blogging for almost four years. I started in mid August 2013 and I had no clue what I was doing, Honestly it was downright pathetic. adding pictures to pages thinking I was posting, changing Iphone pictures to XL.. well you get the picture, PATHETIC.

Timehop

Tonight I decided to go back in time and check it all out. Starting with my August 2/3 posts each year. I opened with August 3rd 2014, a fancy hairdo after convention. Fast Forward to 2015 and it was the long weekend so of course a casual summer look.  2016 was again the long weekend and pooltime shenanigans. Do you ever go back and check out how you have changed and/or progressed?

The Beginning

I may have started blogging in August 2013 but my first official outfit post was November 14, 2013 and it was awful. Honestly this is how I started. Can I even call myself a real blogger……

my first fashion post

Followed by this awesomeness the next day ( and yes its awful because today I use 735 as my sizing, back then this was a 360).  Sorry folks I could not do it, I had to delete the picture. It was awful.  Thankfully I read a lot, I listen sometimes and I do adapt as necessary so today things look way better.  My pictures have improved, my style has stayed the same but I am now comfortable snapping pictures everywhere.  I also like talking about other topics.

  • Same for me Linda! I cringe at some of my first blog posts! I couldn’t delete them though, like you say it’s good to look back at the progress. Still so much to learn on my side, it’s a constant learning curve isn’t it? But something we have grown and nurtured all by ourselves xx

    • true words for sure. It’s part of what made me who I am today so they stay and every so often I do a time hop and wonder oh my….

  • Linda, I don’t think it was as bad as you think it was! We are our own worst critics, after all. My outfit photos started out with a selfie stick held up above me in my bedroom! It took months before I would venture out of my bedroom! Until I finally progressed to a tripod and remote. And now more often then not, I get someone else to take the photos for me. Hahaha.

    • You are probably right but I do cringe when I go too far back ( and its not the outfits its the pics lol)

  • Debbie Stinedurf

I started right around the same time as you, May of 2013.Yes, my beginning was also less than stellar. That’s the cool thing though, all that we’ve learned and where our blogs are today is all due to the fact we observed, we read, we learned and we self taught ourselves to become better bloggers. Look at all we have accomplished! I’ve thought about going back and working on resizing and reconfiguring the old posts, but that would be insanely time consuming. So what I do is if I’m linking to something from the “old days” then I go ahead and resize the pictures and tweak the post format. It’s sure been a fun ride, hasn’t it?

    • we are so alike in so many ways. It’s cringe worthy though at times to look at spacing and sizing and quality. But like you said we all grew together. It has truly been a blast

  • Happy Birthday to your blog!!! I love looking back and seeing how things have changed and evolved… I know my blog has changed tremendously since I started in 2009… 😉

Thanks for the link up & Happy Thursday!

    • Holy Moly 2009, you are one of the founders of the organization. It is fun isn’t it to look back. Better than the photo albums of the past ( almost)
