I am once again participating in an awesome Christmas Tree Hop and I cannot wait to share my tree(s). I may or may not have a Tree problem, I love trees. Is your tree(s) up?
I currently have four up and Kent is getting his ready this weekend. He decorates the Family Room tree and I take care of the others. This year I added a new full tree in the Rec Room because that is where my office is, so it needed a tree right? The main tree is the living room is my special tree. And yes it is still a pink theme tree.
My Pink Christmas Tree
For the past I think 9 years I have had a pink tree. Each year it gets a little pinker and brighter. It started when we moved into the house with bits of pink and gradually became a pink and cream dream. 2019 I finally purchased a new tree with lights already installed. Whew what a difference. Plus the branches are all connected already so again major time saver.
Yes my other tree was over 20 years old and was still beautiful. It was just time consuming to decorate. Placing and reshaping the branches took time. Plus adding the lights.
If you still add lights here is my helpful hint. Once you put the tree up, add your lights and then leave the tree for a day or two. Take a look at the tree at various times during the day to allow a better readjustment of the lights without the other decorations in the way.
2020 I moved my tree, I know what the heck. It has been in the front window since we moved into this house. Covid really has shaken everything up. I moved the small electric fireplace into the Living Room and that meant I needed a new spot for the tree. Kent thinks two trees near each other is too much but I like it. What do you think yea or nay?
The Ornaments on my Tree
The only non pink ornament is a Christmas bulb my sister made me couple of years ago. If you recall, I told the story las year. She found a letter my Dad had sent to her and was able to use his handwriting to send us a message. She made one for all of his four Girls. A picture of my dad shines down from the top of my tree. His message “Lots of Love to You, Dad”.
This will always find a spot on my tree and will be a focal point. This year once again it is front and center.
This year I added my Willow Tree angel and a pink car. I mean come on who doesn’t want a pink car with a tree. I have Red Trucks all over the house but that would look silly on my tree. Thus when I found the Griswald car I could not pass it up.
Finally my sister also made me my own one of a kind set of Rae Dunn Ornaments. Knowing how addicted I was to Rae Dunn Pottery she sought out the perfect font and pink balls. Imagine the joy I felt when I opened a surprise package in the mail. Six (6) Christmas Theme Balls made special for me.
Christmas Memories
Is your tree filled with special memories? Are you a Theme or a traditional kind of decorator? Every tree is beautiful, no matter the style or the colour to me they are a view into the person. The ornaments you select, the colours you use, the style all speak of who you are. Big or small matters not.
In 2018 I added a fun skinny tree in the entryway. Inspired by the jewel tones around me I could not resist another theme. Not sure how to sum up what that theme is but its styled yet fun.
and in the basement Rec Room, I use to have just a little red and green baby. I called this my Whoville tree because I think of the Grinch but now she has a big brother or a new friend.
I added a fireplace and a full size tree. I mean I now spend 8 hours a day in the basement so a full tree was required.
This one is a work in progress I keep adding to it each day. Who knows what it will look like by Christmas but it sure is fun playing with it each day.
And as a special surprise we have a Christmas Ornament Giveaway, how fun is that? Each participant is giving away a special Ornament. Enter on each blog for a chance to win the ornament. My entry is very simple, indicate in the comments below if your tree is up. I’ll give you an additional entry if you follow me on Pinterest.
And now let’s thank Terri Steffes, the hostess over at Christmas Tree Lane for organizing such an amazing Tree Parade.
Now all the trees are linked below so please go visit everyone else’s trees. Inspiration for the season for all of us. Plus who doesn’t want to take a break from the hustle and bustle and look at pretty trees all day.
