Monday I had a day off, it was supposed to be a fun catch up with my blog day after the weekend. Sadly I spent way too much time trying to figure out page speed. Why oh why am I so stubborn and insist on trying to fix things myself. In the meantime let’s get happy with a Fedora, pink converse and linen stripes.
Blog Adventures and Page Speed
I promised myself after this weekend was over I would focus on my blog. What I actually intended was to finish my Dominate SEO course and start applying it. Instead I noticed my blog page speed was really off and I wasted a day trying to speed things up. Wasted sounds harsh but honestly why does everything take so long to fix.
I wish I could pinpoint when it happened. Usually very vigilant about load times all of a sudden it seemed to be taking close to 20 seconds. That is like the kiss of death. Ironically my home page and search pages load very quickly but individual posts are awful. Its a defer java parsing and many other issues problem. And it all sounds like greek right?
Speed Booster Solutions
After many a wasted hour I stumbled upon a solution with Speed Booster. Seemed to speed things up but it also took down my feature slider. Trade one issue for another. It is often a never ending saga. Oh dear blog when you are good you are very good but when you are bad you are horrid.
This is not going to defeat me, I will master this stuff if it kills me. So very stubborn and cheap I am.Do you handle your blog innards or contract out? If you do got any great and cheap resources?
A Fedora, Pink Converse and Linen Stripes
On a far more lighthearted note, spring/summer fashions are alive and well. My winter wardrobe has been packed away and I am re-acquainting myself with some ole favs.
My Old Navy Linen Stripe pants are usually a repeat item. I have worn them dressed up and dressed down. To the office, on vacation and even to the Casino.
My peplum top is also a repeat item from Old Navy. It was the hit top of the season two years ago but I am a loyal gal. This little top has served me well.
My pink converse are a new addition this time. Normally I wore the yellow ones but pink just seemed the right twist for the season. I also found a replacement cardi for my lace top. Thank you Cynthia Rawley for understanding my taste. The Fedora is from Carnival Cruise lines, they have the best hats.
I so love getting last years ( and older) summer wardrobe out. It’s like massive shopping spree without spending any money.
Shop my Look
Exacts are not available as all my pieces are old but I did find some pretty close subs for you.

I’m stubborn too when it comes to techy things but I’m too stingy to pay someone else to do it! I love your pretty peplum top and pink converse. Thanks for linking up!

First, love your pool area! I am thankful my hubby is an IT Guru.. he deals with all of my blog issues in that regard. Love your linen pants, they look great and must be so cool on in the summer heat. Pretty colorful top and I love the shoes! I need a pair of white converse.
thanks for linking!

I’m sure you will figure out your speed issue soon. I so need those pink converse. What I really need to do is find a replacement for my black ones.

Good luck with fixing your blog issues! I don’t know much about blogging and fixing things like that, so I stick with blogger and it’s fuss-free, haha! 🙂 Sorry I have no good tips to give you!
I like your colourful converse too! The pink is so fun.
Hope that you are having a great week so far, aside form the blog struggles!

Gosh, I can so relate, Linda!! I decided to update my logo since my mom is now 80, and lo and behold, it shows up super small on my page!! I probably spent (wasted) 5 hours trying to fix it….so now it’s just way small! Ugh!!
At least a girl can look fabulous in her outfit even if technology wins for this day!!
XOXO

It is so super frustrating that something that seems so easy should be so hard right? But yep, look good feel good is my motto.
