Today is the day, I am so very excited, time to pull out the party hats, blow up the balloons and cue the fireworks…. a new link up has arrived.  My newest baby A Labour of Fashion, a fun gathering every Thursday where ya’all can come hang with me for the day,  please. please do maybe we will even have cupcakes to go along with the balloons.
That was January 8th, 2015 and sadly the post is no longer even on my blog.My blog grew too large and cumbersome with too many pictures and the cost to maintain it was extreme. I deleted two years of “Fashion” selfies.  Fast forward four years and I am in a conundrum, should it stay or should it go.  No-one seems to be “fashion” linking anymore and I am stressing myself over timely posts.

The First A Labour of Fashion Post

While the post no longer exists on my blog it is forever saved on my original Blogspot space. Yes folks I saved my blogspot because I wasn’t sure I would like wordpress. Honestly I often think of returning because for some strange reason traffic was amazing.  People seemed to find me better.

No-matter today for A Labour of Fashion 257 I thought we could “Turn back Time” .  Here was the post in all its glory.

Today’s outfit is inspired by the frigid temperatures we are experiencing in Ottawa and elsewhere I am sure.  Wool. layers, knits, everything we have to keep us warm and toasty.  This is one of the awesome sweaters I found at Banana Republic in Charlotte, I normally do not think of beige and grey together but hey I think it works. Pairing the sweater with my grey skirt from Ricki’s ( featured a few times already) argyle tights from Old Navy and of course my OTK Boots from Shoe Dazzle (similar). And have ya noticed the collar??? found this baby on line at Go Jane and fell in love

Yes I am the crazy fool standing outside in the snow without a jacket/hat/mitts but I swear it was only for two minutes as I quickly snapped some pictures.  Kids do not try this at home it was -35 c (-31F).

Today on A Labour of Life

For today on A Labour of Fashion 257 I reflect. The blogs I use to link up with no longer even exist. 6 bloggers that inspired me to be who I am and keep going, no longer even blog. I have gone back through my posts and so many bloggers have faded away, linkups for fashion no longer seem “cool”. Am I alone in my observations?

I have an awesome craft/food link up every Sunday and that is going strong but not this one.  I adore seeing what everyone is wearing. Inspiration still comes from those of you who have been here every week. But I have to ask, has the time come to say Good-Bye?  That is why I am late today.  Honestly I was ready to just quietly slip away without even acknowledging four years of work.

I think that bothered me more than anything, should I just let it slip away?  Well damn it folks I love seeing what you wear. Regardless of the fact that we have slipped to 30 links for so many weeks.  I have grown from the cheesy button, I have expanded in to other worlds. The blog is my life, it is me and I am not leaving the fashion behind.  For now I will keep going. A Labour of Fashion 257  is my reason for keeping fashion still alive on a Labour of Life.  So let’s link up and show me what you are styling today.

I am new to fashion blogging, and, like you, blog about other stuff. Sometimes I join in on your other link up too. You have to do what is right for you, but I enjoy this link up.

    Hi Linda
Happy New YEar! I still post my THT linkup and I always enjoy looking at fashion and reading fashion posts. I suppose some bloggers come and go, and IG has changed things to a degree. I prefer reading blogs than IG, but that is me. Love the jeweled collar with your sweater! Now, that is cold weather!
