Travel style is always more difficult when leaving snow and heading to sun and sand. I do realize that many people dress for where they are going and show up in shorts and sandals.
Honestly I find it kind of silly to watch people walking through the airport in flipflops in the winter. Don’t they realize you do still have to return home to this weather and most likely drive home. Dressing in layers in non seasonal looks always works.
Travel Style
I have a traditional style when heading South to sun and sand. A cami or tank is automatic so I am prepared when I hit the warmth, covered with a lightweight cardigan. This little number with the lace back is perfect, slightly dressy, light enough to not overheat but enough to keep my arms warm on the plane. The Fedora is also necessary because I often forget my sunglasses and this is the perfect sun shield.
Fun pants usually in a cute pattern, creating a stylish yet weather appropriate look. Not overdressed for sun or under dressed for snow. I inevitably wear converse, comfy yet cute. Fun fact or twisted fact I never ever wear sandals or open shoes on a plane. For some reason tied shoes or boots that stay on my feet because I have this fear of “what if’s”. Years ago I watched a documentary by Gillian Anderson about plane crashes. Never wear sandals , never wear pantyhose, weird what sticks with us isn’t it.
Do you have any weird travel quirks?
Gingham Pants From Target
So enough of the travel style let’s get back to my gingham pants. These are the perfect pant. I have the matching blazer for a work wear suit, yet they go perfectly with converse and camis’
Dress them up or dress them down. Guess what they are also back in stock this year. I almost bought a second pair I love them that much. They also have an ankle version I adore.

I’m with you on what to wear for travel – your outfit has to be flexible. And that one is really cute!

Love the gingham pants Linda with the black cardi. You wear hats well, and this one is adorable! I find I have a small head and the only one that works is a beret! I finally bought a pair of platform converse last year!

These gingham trousers are very chic and yes, they work year round. All they need is a pair of long johns underneath in winter. Yes, I also always wonder about the flip flops. It’s also so weird to see people in Bermuda shorts, tennis socks, sneakers and a T- or Hawaiian shirt at 40 below. O.k. I wore a bikini outside at that temperature, but just for a fun photo shot. But these people wear that “summer uniform” all year.

What a fun outfit, loving the pattern on the pants! I almost bought a similar pair this weekend but then thought I wouldn’t get enough wear out of them!
Thanks for hostingn the linkup!

Wow, you’ve got some snow there! Reminds me of my formative days growing up in Wisconsin. I love the hat. I really only just realized that I’m a “hat person” too – so I guess I’ll share my hat person post in keeping with the festivities and all.

I have a pair of gingham pants and just love wearing them! I haven’t thought to travel in them but they would be practical!

Prefect travel outfit. I typically travel in legging and a t-shirt when I travel in the car. I haven’t been on a plane in 3 years.

Cute! Those gingham pants are adorable. I kind of have a travel uniform. Always jeans or leggings, a top or lightweight sweater with an additional sweater (because I’m always freezing on planes) and slip on shoes. Isn’t it funny how we all have our formula? XO

I am loving your gingham pants! Super cute. And I had to laugh at your travel quirk of not wearing sandals on a plane…I have a story, an experience that led me to the same travel quirk…I was wearing sandals on a plane many years ago, the thong type of sandals and the thong part broke making it impossible to walk in the broken sandal. My extra shoes were in my checked luggage, forcing me to walk barefoot through Newark International Airport. Grossest thing I have ever had to do! I wanted to soak my feet in bleach upon arriving home! And never again will I wear sandals on a plane (and I always carry an extra pair of shoes in my carry on luggage as well)!
