A Red, White and Blue Tribute

Well I really missed the boat on this one didn’t I? I mean honestly Red, White and Blue is a perfect tribute so why am I sharing today not yesterday? My Social Media Calendar is truly off lately. No matter, it’s still a fun look for any day right?

Memorial Day Celebrations

Memorial Day sometimes known as Decoration Day is a federal holiday in the United States for remembering the people who died while serving in the country’s armed forces. The holiday, which is currently observed every year on the last Monday of May, marks the unofficial start of the summer vacation season, while Labor Day marks its end.

Many people visit cemeteries and memorials, particularly to honor those who have died in military service. Many volunteers place an American flag on each grave in national cemeteries.

I use to get confused over the difference between Remembrance Day, in Canada and Veteran’s Day in the US. Memorial Day is a day of remembering the men and women who died while serving, whereas Veterans Day/Remembrance Day celebrates the service of all military veterans.

And today I also discovered Armed Forces Day, a U.S. remembrance celebrated earlier in May, which specifically honors those currently serving in the U.S. military. I wish Canada had one of those days.

Red, White and Blue OOTD

It seem so , will I don’t know almost shallow to discuss an OOTD after talking about Memorial Day. But no more shallow than picniccing on a day we remember the dead. Hmmm tis a strange society we live in, isn’t it. So Shallow me shall discuss this Old Navy Outfit of mine. The dress I have worn this year already, new and seen on a lot of bloggers, but oh so cute. The Coat also Old Navy but many years old. I adore this red coat with the blue and white lining. Something I have not seen anywhere else. Paired with converse I am rocking the casual tribute look. ( not to be confused with the Hunger Games Tribute please)
