We have fallen out of the habit of three and four course gourmet meals over the past year, but with Fall upon us and the cold weather creeping in Kent and I decided it was time to resume our tradition. You have heard it before, Kent is an amazing cook and loves to create amazing dishes and what better way to spend the weekend together then in the kitchen ( well now that sounds downright funny doesn’t it. Romantic and kitchen)
Roasted Garlic Soup with Cream
The recipe is relatively easy to make and everyone will swear that you have hired a gourmet chef. Its the soup intended to impress at all levels. It doesn’t require a ton of ingredients Garlic, Honey, potatoes, chicken broth, cream, butter, bay leaves and Salt and pepper. Take your time and smell the deliciousness wafting through the house.
The secret ingredient is the honeyed garlic cloves, the 12 roasted cloves rolled in honey are the perfect topper for the soup, big tip take a picture fast because they sink quickly to the bottom, I was too slow and too hungry to try again. I am feeling really generous so I have included the amazing recipe below. Try it out and let me know what you think.
Rubbermaid Containers
Before I forget, how about those amazing containers? We stopped in Brockville on our way back from Prince Edward County and while shopping for the groceries we would need I found these amazing food storage containers from Rubbermaid.( so cool Walmart has everything all in one place)
As for the new containers they are BRILLIANT (pun intended). I swear they are the new standard in food storage. Brilliance is 100% guaranteed leak-proof. plus stain and odor resistant They are crystal clear from every angle and oh so very pretty. They are perfect for taking to parties or to the office as they are splatter resistant with microwave vent flaps.
I probably sound like an ad to you but I tell you they are so perfect for me. So perfect I picked up the 8 piece kit because you know me, why stop at just one.
They really are totally leak proof, I took the soup for lunch and no spillage, no leakage and the microwave at work personally thank me when I was finished. I usually am the splatter gal but not this time. With the Rubbermaid Brilliance I now can agree with total confidence to take gourmet soup to our next dinner party. ( and are you kidding me in these containers who wouldn’t want to take them and show them off)
