Let’s Talk About Pee baby, Let’s Talk about you and me… anyone else getting that song stuck in their head or I am the only crazy one… or do you even know what I am talking about?

Always Discreet, there is a Pad for that

Well if I am going to have the lyrics stuck in my head you should too right?

Well enough about the song let’s get back to Pee shall we, and now that I have your attention and you are wondering what the heck is the matter with me, I want to be honest with you.. why is it so darn difficult to talk about “pee” anyway, seriously I am 51 this should not be a hard topic but I seriously feel like I am that 12 year old girl just getting her period ( yes I was 12). Do you remember that day, you thought something was happening but you really weren’t sure who to ask or how to phrase it??  Well I remember it as if it was yesterday and hello, I even had a really open relationship with my mom but periods at the time were just one of those icky things to talk about.

                                            Top Five Awkward Topics
1) Periods
2) Sex Positions ( sex is easy to talk about just not the little details)
3) How much you weigh
4) How’s your poop
and number
 5) Have you ever peed yourself…….

There I said it… now who is bold enough to answer? Not me… Ok well maybe now I may

Little story for you,  I have been really sick over the past few weeks,  like Flu turned into Pneumonia sick and it has been awful,  no sleep, fever, coughing so hard it actually hurt and totally losing control of my bladder… yep AWKWARD….. OK it totally should not be awkward but it was and it took me back, not as far back as my period story but to when I was 24, I think it was.

My Mom’s friend was over from Wales and I overheard them talking about bladder control ( or really bladder no control) They were discussing the issues they were experiencing, and to be really clear here both were only in their 40’s and I remember just smiling and nodding and saying in my head, because I did not want to be rude, well how awful is that and that will never happen to me…and man if that was me I would never go out… and all those rude statement/comments we think when we are 20 and figure 40 is old and ewww how gross…

Well flash forward a few years, like 26 to be precise and all of a sudden, well I don’t feel old and I sure as heck don’t think I look or act old so why then is my body being so awful to me?  Seriously bad enough the ole neck wants to act like a turkey but now my bladder which by the way is like the world’s smallest bladder ( road trips require stops every hour) is throwing me to the wolves as well.  Leaky Linda…. that’s what was going through my head.

Always discreet liners
So. lets be frank, I am very lucky that what I was experiencing during my illness does not happen all the time but for a whole lot of women out there it does. Did you know that six out of ten women who suffer from urinary incontinence feel like they are living with a secret ( and a huge, awful secret at that).  In Canada, seven in ten women under 55 and four out of ten over 55 feel like incontinence is a BIG Secret.   That is an awful stat isn’t it?  Eight out of Ten Women have leakage when they cough or sneeze, so hello why is it such a bad secret??  And now really true confession I am still holding on to a dirty little secret because more times than I want to count I am racing in the house from the car, a mad dash to the bathroom after work every day, just praying I make it and most times I do but others…. so why oh why has it taken me 3/4’s of a post to be open and honest especially when i am trying to tell you it’s OK, it happens to all of us… so to try and show the world there is nothing to be ashamed of I did something really strange and weird and totally open… I had a ” Discreet” photo shoot on my front steps, lets shout it from the rooftops… there’s a ” pad” for that..

Hey I think I just created a new campaign for Always Discreet ( Thank me later), no seriously how common is ” There’s an App for that” well guess what if you are a silent sufferer ( Like I was)  ” There’s a Pad for That”  now lets think of a perfect hashtag…. I have to tell you that is what I love about Discreet, there actually is a pad for me, just a small lightweight liner that does not make me uncomfortable to wear

Always discreet pads

Always Discreet very light

Always Discreet liners

Always Discreet for maximum protection

The scarecrow no longer is afraid to talk about Always Discreet

So while my neighbours think I am a bit whacky ( and truly they already thought that because hello 51 year old taking outfit pictures everyday in her front yard) at least now the neighbourhood ( and you) are aware that I am not hiding anymore, pee is a fact of life, just like our periods and menopause and sex… so lets get this conversation started.

Plus did you check out these pictures there is now an unlimited selection of fantastic products at your disposal and even better Samples… that’s right click on the link and you can get your own selection to try out for whatever “p”ailments you may experience. And for me well, a little protection never harmed anyone,  and seriously totally Discreet ( not your granny’s diapers anymore)

Just me, trying to be open but Discreet,  I am now Always Discreet about what is under my Outfit..
I am Always Discreet with what is under my clotheing
