Summer is upon us, heck Fall i actually almost upon is but it is still Peach Season for me. Actually it is Peach Season in Canada, July till end of August is full on ripe tasty peaches here in Ontario and BC. Testing out yet another tasty delight, Balsamic Baked Peaches, the perect summer treat.
This one is an oven recipe vs my Grilled Peaches for the BBQ, both are mouthwatering good though.
Baked Peaches
Have you ever tried baked peaches? Like the apple and the pineapple, baking this fruit just accentuates the sweetness. Something really terrific happens when peaches are grilled. The heat caramelizes and intensifies the natural sweetness of the fruit, and the flavors are really something special
Today I am pairing with a maple whip cream making this a truly Canadiana Dessert. Prep time: is only10 minutes and then baking for a meer 25-30 minutes. Basicall time to clear the table and get read for dessert.
This rrecipe serves: 4 but add additional peaches if more drop in. The beauty of tasty fruit desserts, they quickly expand to serve more people.
Ingredients needed for this Baked Dish
Five simple ingredients to make a Baked Balsamic Peach dish they will all be raving over.
4 large peaches, cut in half, pits removed
2 T. balsamic vinegar
2 t. ground cinnamon (+ more for garnish)
2½ T. real maple syrup, divided
½ c. heavy whipping cream
How to Make Baked Balsmaic Peaches
Who knew baking fruit would be so simple and easy. Minimal prep time and baking up quickly in the oven, offering you time to set the table for dessert and whip up the cream. This tasty Baked Balsamic Peaches will not disappoint.
- Place top oven rack in the center position and pre-heat oven to 350°F. Line a large, rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper or a Silpat™ baking sheet.
- Arrange peach halves on the baking sheet and spread the balsamic vinegar over the exposed surface with a pastry brush. Sprinkle the ground cinnamon on top, divided evenly between the peach halves.
- Drizzle two tablespoons maple syrup on top, using the pastry brush to cover the entire surface of each peach half.
- Place the baking sheet in the pre-heated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the peaches are tender and warmed through.
- While the peaches are baking, pour the heavy cream into a medium mixing bowl and beat until fluffy. Add the remaining maple syrup and continue beating until well combined.
- Remove the peaches from the oven and serve warm topped with a dollop of the maple whipped cream and a sprinkle of cinnamon, if desired. Enjoy!
Freezing and Storing
Truth be told not a dish I recommend freezing but it cn be re-heated or eaten cold the next daybut they will not taste as great. I assure you, this dessert doesn’t need saving everyone will be licking their plates clean. . The whip cream is good for a few days but again best served fresh.
