It’s already Hump Day, where is the time going? For us Canadians we are just coming off the Victoria Day Long Weekend high and for our US Neighbours, well anticipation. You lucky peeps are heading into the Memorial Day Weekend. I am slowly catching back up with my blog and thought I would share my Gingham look. I found this Blue Gingham Dress at Joe Fresh before gingham became cool again.
Blue Gingham Dress and Floral Shoes
July 2016, I went shopping for bananas and found this dress instead. I love the fact Joe FResh is available where I buy my groceries. Too funny at times but totally convenient.Focusing on the outfit at the moment let’s talk Gingham and the crazy trend. It is everywhere, honestly I just came back from the States and I swear Target created an entire wardrobe from gingham. And true confession I actually picked up the pants, a blazer, a skirt and a Trench coat all in black and white gingham.
This is a trend that sort of creeped up on me unexpectedly, only because I have been wearing it for a while. I am not sure when I blinked and missed the memo that said all things gingham for 2018. All that being said I am happy about that trend. Sadly because my dress is a few years old I cannot tell you where to find it but I did find some awesome close replacements. (similar, close, high end).
Floral Shoes from Shoe Dazzle
The signature pumps from Shoe Dazzle are also “seasoned”. I have always had a love of floral shoes so I am totally excited the trend is back. These are the perfect heel with a slight platform so it does not even feel like I am wearing pumps. Sorry they are no longer available but maybe if we asked nice they would bring them back. In the meantime how abut these awesome beauties all for under $70.00.
My cardigan is my favourite piece in my wardrobe. So lightweight it can be crumpled up in your purse when the days and nights are hot but the buildings are freezing. This was from Forever 21 Contemporary line several years ago and I cannot find a replacement. Now who would want to replace this you ask? Well it is so worn that there are holes under the arms. I look like an orphaned child when I wave my arms because the material has worn completely out. If you know where I can find one let me know please. I am completely fussy., it has to be lightweight with a cascade open front and a lace back, simple right?
The necklaces are from Vanheusen and the purse well I just found that at Winners. It is a Drew bag and totally fun. It has a design flaw though and will not stay snapped. My workaround was a suggestion from Kent, use a big office clip ( you know those ugly black butterfly clips?) Well it totally works.
Wish List Pieces
Back to the Cardigan for a minute, don’t you hate when you find the perfect piece and then cannot find a replacement? I am beginning to think when I find something I love I should go back and get a spare. Currently I have three pieces I cannot find suitable replacements for:
My white cardigan, my blue cropped blazer and my wide stripe pants. All three are pieces you have seen often and although I have tried to find comparables they always end up disappointing me. Possibly the key is to not try to replace but veer off in a new direction but I am not quite ready for that. I did find three awesome subs for the pants, not replacements but kind of new direction, straight legs not wide and one checked and one striped.
What I really need if you can help me: Blazer, Cardigan and Pants
