Canada Day is just days away, and it may not surprise you that I get a little Canadian Crazy this time of year.  Normally my feed is filled with red and white outfits and fun tablescapes but this year I am sharing something new.  What better way is there to celebrate the occasion than by incorporating a uniquely Canadian beverage into your long weekend.

The Cabot Trail Cafe Frappe is made from pure Canadian maple syrup and blended with fresh cream.  Cabot Trail Maple Cream brings the culture of Canada to life with a sweet, smooth taste.

CDB Creme Frappe

Canada Day and Maple Cream

Is there anything that screams Canadian more than maple anything?  Well maybe maple leafs and beavers and loonies but hey Maple anything says Red and White forever in my mind.

Cabot Trail Maple Cream named in honour of John Cabot the first European to discover Canada.  In honour of his adventuress spirit and the awesome discovery of this fine nation we have an amazing “Spirit” to share.  The authentic taste of pure Canadian maple syrup blended with fresh cream.  How decadent does that sound?  The creation of the Cabot Trail Cafe Frappe is bringing all the best of what we have to offer together.  OK maybe a slight exaggeration but this sure is delicious.

Learn more about Cabot Trail Maple Cream hop over here but in the meantime check out this recipe to enjoy this summer.

Cabot Trail Café Frappe

Gather your fine Ingredients and let’s get started

30 ml (1 oz.) of Cabot Trail Maple Cream

15 ml (1/2 oz.) orange liqueur

120 ml (4 oz.) of strong coffee, cooled

30 ml (1 oz.) chocolate syrup

Whipped cream

Orange zest

Chocolate chips or pearls

Ice cubes

How to blend the perfect Canada Day Drink

1.     Pour the chocolate syrup into a highball glass or a large cup.
2.     In a shaker filled with ice cubes, pour the maple cream, the orange liquor and the coffee. Shake vigorously.
3.     Filter the contents of the shaker into the highball glass by gently pouring it on the back of a spoon so that the coffee is deposited on the chocolate syrup.
4.     Top with whipped cream, chocolate shavings and an orange peel.

5. Add straw and enjoy
