Do you own a Cat? or rather does a cat own you? Cat owners are well aware of the perils of leaving a laptop unattended. Heck sometimes even when I am on the laptop Lou decides she needs it more, It is truly dangerous, I mean I have come back to the weirdest facebook posts because Lou has staked a claim on my “puter”
Cats and Computers
I understand the easiest solution is just close your laptop but that is not always convenient. Imagine my surprise when I was shopping at Uncommon Goods when I discovered the vast selection of Cat Accessories, including a laptop. Lou begged me to order it for her, so being the overindulgent parent I am… well next thing you know this box was at the front door. True confession there may have been more than Lou’s laptop in the box, but hey Mothers Day is fast approaching and I need to be prepared.
Lou and Her Laptop
Lou was very excited to see her present arrive, OK well maybe the fact it was a cardboard box caught her real interest. Regardless, Lou was happy although she really tried to appear nonchalant about it.
Assembling the Cattop/Cat’s Laptop
Kent opened the box and got the operating system working, meaning he put the two pieces together. Installed the software for the mouse, yes I am totally making that part up but he did put the pieces together.
I decided to give Lou a little time to adjust to her own laptop. I set it up outside of her Gingerbread House ( I did say I was over indulgent remember). She found it interesting and pretty soon she started exploring. The slogan is true about curiosity and the cat.
Initially I think Lou found the mouse the most fascinating part. It kept her amused for hours, OK well minutes if truth be told, but still amused.(I got a new mou,se too, check it out theergo slider)
After she got bored with her mouse she realized that this was was more comfy then Mom’s laptop. It was made just for her
I may have overstated her initial excitement because the call of my laptop was like a sirens song. My HP kept calling her name, the lure of the fan and warmth may have been a tad bit overwhelming.
It has now been two weeks and Lou has decided that she really does love her own laptop. She comes running into the room and immediately runs to her machine as I blog on mine. Overall an investment well worth it. Next up, well Lou and I are debating does she get her own round and round like her dad or maybe an Ice Crean Truck. I am leaning towards the truck as a summer time version of her gingerbread house.
She did get to work on a new shelf as well. Such an industrious cat.
