Tis the season of Christmas Cheer and that means fun glasses. Thought I would try a little DIY and create a beautiful Christmas Ornament Cocktail Glass for the holiday season. I am sure you have seen the inexpensive clear plastic ornaments. So why not create something quick and easy and oh so full of Christmas Spirit.

Christmas Cheer or Christmas Spirit
It is crazy that it is already December and this is my first craft. Gone are the days where I was able to start crafting and sharing in October/November. Apparently life has interrupted me once again. No matter I am back on track. The house is ready. Open house has been scheduled and I am a crafting machine again.
Sunday was finally a fun day of creating. Truth be told I spent some time Friday night watching youtube Christmas Dollartree videos to get inspired. Then I went to my Dollar store and perused the aisles looking for additional inspiration and supplies.
Christmas Ornament Balls Cocktails
First up was a double inspiration. a Christmas Drink Glass and then a cocktail. For today I shall stick with the cutest cocktail glasses you can imagine. I also downsized and created a shooter glass version as well.
This is such a simple craft with one hiccup. Make sure he glue you use is a good glue. If its possible I think mine went bad. I had an issue with a few balls where the glue let go after I filled the ball. That just means you can’t put your drink down, it’s a walk and sip cup. Not that a walk and sip cup is a bad thing, I mean toddlers use them every day.
This was probably one of the easiest crafts I have attempted in a long time. Not one I recommend for children only because 1) hot glue and 2) its a drink glass. Although honestly these would be perfect for the young ones. Imagine a glass a milk with a fun straw. Let them get into the Christmas Spirit without the spirits.
What you will need to Create the Christmas Ball Drink Ornaments
I have added a few affiliate links to help you out in your search for the perfect supplies.
- Plastic ornaments, available at Michaels or on Amazon. Dollar Store only had the baby ones
- Clear flat glass stones, I used large and small
- scissors to cut a hole in the top of the holder( what is that called?) I used a fine point.
- Hot Glue Gun
- Glue Sticks
- fun straws
- something to drink
How to create a Holiday Drink Statement
- make sure all the balls are clean ( wash and thoroughly dry)
- clean the stones
- place one stone on a flat surface and add a generous dollop of hot glue
- add the ball on to the glue. I went on a slant to create a pretty optic but I may try a few straight up.
- remove the cap and cut a circular hole in the top, use really fine sturdy scissors
- fill with drink of choice
- add cap back on and insert a pretty straw
- serve to guests and enjoy
Tip: Do a test run to make sure the stones stay on after they are filled. I had a few where the glue released. I may also try a crazy glue in the future or even gorilla glue.
