On April 12, CRAFT Beer Market invited Kent and I to shake, stir and mix the night away at an exclusive cocktail soiree. We of course could not refuse because it was an evening of great food and delicious cocktails (because CRAFT is more than just beers)!
Craft Beer and Us
If you have been following me you know that I often share fun beer experiences. Kent and I love to taste/sample/indulge on our travels and sometimes at home. OK lot’s of time at home to. We love checking out cool new craft beers, supporting local business and well having fun. CRAFT Beer Market was not a new to us spot. We have taken many a friend and family member there to experience all that is Craft.
Now don’t let the name fool you, there is still food and drinks for all even if you do not like Beer ( GASP). I mean seriously how could you not like it. But i’s your life your palette so I will not judge you ( totally am actually).
CRAFT Beer Market Tour
We work downtown so as a result we went straight over and were almost the first to arrive. In some circles I understand people want to be fashionably late but hello, beer and food. We arrived and were immediately greeted with a warm smile, an offer of a drink and even a small tour. Our waiter of the evening, great guy and I wish I could remember his name, went out of his way to make us feel welcome.
He offered a tour of the ” BEER Room” so who could say no. Kent always hates discovering new facts about beer, such a chore.
Food and Fun
It was a casual evening where everyone was just expected to socialize and enjoy the food. Fun fact a few days later I went to the Society of Ladies who Drink Beer Event and got to reconnect with many of the staff. ( and get more awesome food treats). Staff continued to circulate offering many tasty delights. Mini Sliders were a huge hit as were the numerous pizza breads. I could go on and on about the food but let’s hop to the Craft Tails and Draft Tails.
Craft Tails and Draft Tails
Rock It and CRAFT Beer Market developed a special menu filled with many tasty treats to sample.Kent and I started out with The JRK. What’s that you ask, well just a delicious concoction formerly known as Julip Radler Kentucky. I am sure you can imagine what was in that baby. Kent is a huge Bourbon fan so that was a natural choice for him, and me well Radler girl is willing to try anything.
The Fuzzy Peach Margarita on the Rocks was a hit with everyone around me, so had to try it right?
Finally because it was a school night, or work night i ended with the Charles Grey Martini.
Craft Beer Market
If you happen to live in Ottawa or are visiting this is a must check out spot. Located at Lansdown (975 Bank Street) Conveniently located for sports fans and beer connoisseurs. The place was hoping when we were there and not just with those in my party. This is the perfect place to stop for an afterwork drink, catch a game on the tube or just catch up with fans or celebrate National Beer Day. Plus hello Summertime, It’s Patio weather so time for me to check out their Patio Scene I think
A Labour of Life was invited to the Craft Beer Market to experience a fun evening but all views and opinions shared here are my own. There was no request or obligation to share but we had such a great evening why would I not.
Thanks to Alan Wainwright for capturing us having fun. Yes we were in Hockey Jerseys, It was in recognition of the tragedy that had affected the Humboldt Bronco’s/
