Wait, hold on a minute, is that actually sun shining in my eyes? Holy cow it is. I got totally thrown off my camera game on Monday because the sun was shining and because of the time change and season I totally forgot to re-jig my photo style. Now before everyone gets too excited that Spring is here to stay the forecast is still snow for the weekend. Pretty sad in April that I can still be comfortably wearing my Green Crushed Velvet Moto from F21.
On Monday we wore Green, as in Green Crushed Velvet Moto
On Monday I unintentional followed the wave of green in Canada. In Canada and possibly elsewhere people were asked to wear green as a sign of remembrance for the Humboldt Bronco’s. In case you have not hear one of Saskatchewan’s Junior A Hockey Teams was traveling by bus to a play off game. A horrific accident claimed the lives of 15 of the 29 on the bus.
Monday I posted on my facebook “This weekend we all woke up to news that we never want to hear. On this day we all say a little prayer for those who are going through that which none of us ever want to face. For every parent who has ever had a child on a bus, or in a van or on a trip. To every parent who wants to encourage their child to follow their dream and always wants to still protect them. It is not just Humboldt’s Tragedy, or Saskatchewan’ or Canada’s. It is not just Hockey’s but rather every parent, every child, every sport, every dreamer. May you all RIP and may we all some day find the light on this dark day.”
Our Darkest Hours
For me it hit close to home, our boys while traveling to a show this winter rolled their van. The van was destroyed as was the trailer but all 6 boys were safe. We did not have to live the nightmare that those parents did for the Humboldt team. I thank God every day, actually every hour that our boys were kept safe.
Tonight, hug your loved ones when you get home, tell them you love them. Call the friend you haven’t heard from in a bit. Make sure those close to you for you never know what the day may bring.
On Thursday, wear a Hockey Jersey to work, or school or even out shopping. On Thursday the Hockey world and the rest of us will share a moment of tribute.
The Outfit of the day
Now to more frivolous things because well that’s how life rolls right? Serious to funny to sad to happy one never knows. I found these most amazing stovepipe pants while I was in Vancouver last week. H&M has totally been getting me lately. I can’t wait for the weather to warm up so I can wear them slightly rolled up with my converse. I know I am dreaming of warm days. I went simple with a crew neck henley from Old Navy and my oh so awesome Crushed Velvet Moto. Itonically it should be way to warm for velvet after Easter but NOPE.
