Inspiration can come from the strangest of places and sometimes the most obvious of places. Look around and imagine the world repurposed or maybe just an item used differently. A quick tree to Dollar Tree had my imagination running wild, seeking a few fun ideas to make Easter still feel like a celebration. I created a fun Dollar Tree Easter Centrepiece for friends to brighten their table.
True confession, I made a few changes to my original design and then I wanted one of my own. I styled it on my Dining Room Table and then wanted to keep it lol. This was intended to brighten some one else’s day so I did “socially distance” deliver this with a few other Easter goodies.

Creating a Dollar Tree Centrepiece
Hmmm before I go any further I am struggling spellcheck and my Canadianisms. Centerpiece or Centrepiece, no matter how you spell it the meaning is the same. A centrepiece or centerpiece is an important item of a display, usually of a table setting. Centrepieces help set the theme of the decorations and bring extra decorations to the room. A centrepiece also refers to any central or important object in a collection of items.
Wanting to create a fun Easter Centrepiece at the last moment had me browsing the aisles of the Dollar Tree. OK true confession I was inspired by a fellow blogger, Laurie at Craft Room Time created a fun centrepiece that inspired me totally. She used greenery and wooden eggs, and I took creative license with my own styling. Bloggers inspiring bloggers is always a positive right? Inspiration vs duplicating or worse, remember it is great to be inspired and to use that creativity in your own crafts, but give credit.
What you will need in you Shopping Cart
Head to your nearest Dollar Tree or Dollarama and start browsing. This is truly a craft where the main components of the Tin Flowers and Garden container can be personal. I personally loved the bunny theme for Easter Look around for a fun bunny cutout and maybe a few wooden eggs ( or plastic or foam).
- tin oval container
- florist foam or filler
- wooden rabbit
- few decorative eggs
- crinkle paper grass
- glue gun
- glue sticks
How to Create the Easter Centrepiece
Such an easy craft to put together. Honestly it took more time to pick a bunny than it did to create the centrepiece. Initially I had picked up some pastel fluff to fill in my background. After I was done it seemed pretty but lacked a certain umph. Adding a bright blue paper grass really added an element of wow. The steps are easy
- place the floral foam to your container to fill up the space, I glued my floral foam to the bottom.
- add some glue to the top of the foam and add your bunny cutout.
- adding additional foam as filler to make sure the bunny has a solid base
- use your grass to fill and cover the foam
- place a few eggs and carrots as extra decor. ( glue or just add, your choice) I used glue for the larger eggs)
- Figure out where to put the centrepiece and stand back and admire
