Tis that time of year, no not Christmas, this time it’s Easter, and my time to HOP TO IT. And yea I get real “punny” this time of the year. Decorating my mantle with some fun Easter Decor and using a printable I ordered.
Easter Mantle Decor
I probably decorate my house as much at Easter as I do at Christmas, minus seven trees of course. No I am not kidding, but does it surprise anyone that a gal with seven trees would love every holiday.
My Easter Mantle was an Aqua and Orange theme, ispired by my printable from Wilshire Collections. FYI Stacy and her blog have been my inspiration for so much of my decor.
Using Printables to Create Decor
Printables and using them around my home for decor is a recent passion. It is not something I had explored before but holy moly very addicting. Taking a pretty piece of paper and using it to create art, especially when you are not artistic in that sense.
A pretty print, a piece of wood and some mod podge and I am happy. Discovering you can convert a Fall sign from Dollar Tree into a beautiful Easter wall hanging, who doesn’t love that.
Supplies you need to use an Easter Printable
You need very few supplies to create really fun pieces for your Easter Mantle.
- Mod podge
- printable for the season
- wooden base ( use one from Dollar tree from another season)
- paint
- paint brush
- sandpaper
- ribbon
Creating Easter Decor with a Printable
The toughest part of this craft is picking a printable to work with, there are so many choices. I have purchased several from Stacy and even created a few of my own.
- Select a base that will fit your printable, i usually use an out of season picture from Dollar Tree. The most inexpensive base you will find.
- sand off any glitter or rough spots
- paint the base a colour that will help accentuate your printable, I tend to use white to help with blending the edges
- position your printable to see where you want it and then paint your base with mod podge
- cover the back of your printable with mod podge and then adhere to base
- smooth out all air bubbles, i have a roller but I also have used my hands
- cover top with more mod podge and then set aside to dry
- if a hanging picture create a pretty bow as an accent
- for my bow I love matching and contrasting colours, check here for my how to create a bow.
- attach the bow and then find the perfect spot to display your work
