It is almost Easter and guess what that means? Candy and chocolate and well Candy. I am a holiday fiend and always on the hunt for fun ideas. Tablescapes, napkin folds and wreaths have been fun crafts to share but I wanted something new. Apothecary Jars have been shared. Kate Spade Eggs were tried and so were Mason Jar Vases. What could I try in 2019? Edible Easter Candy Baskets seemed a cool craft to try.
Edible Easter Candy Baskets
Funny thing, I picked up all the craft supplies last year and never completed the basket oops. It seemed a relatively simple concept, create an Easter Basket using candy. The possibilities are endless, and the colour scheme whatever you want. I used nerds Mike and Ike boxes because of the bright colours.
It was a relatively simple craft and one I truly believe the kids would love. Candy, cardboard, hot glue and pipe cleaners.
What you will need for your Easter Basket
4 candy boxes ( rectangle)
cardboard for base
felt ( bright colour)
Hot glue
9 bright coloured pipe cleaners
Easter Grass
extra candy, suckers or Easter toys
Creating the Easter Basket
1)Cut cardboard for base
2) Glue first candy box to the end of the cardboard ( as shown)
3) add hot glue to cardboard as well as the inside edge of the first box
4) press Candy Boxes together to create a box
5) Continue for other end and side
6) Hold till glue dries
7) create 3 pipe cleaner braids to use as trim on base of basket
8) Glue braid to base ( be careful glue is hot, hot hot)
9) Fill basket with Easter Grass
10) create a tube with a piece of felt and glue to inside of basket. This is your handle. You could also use licorice or a tube candy if you prefer. I like coloured felt decorated with Candy
11) fill baskets with candy and easter goodies.
12) Enjoy
