I love decorating, no seriously I LOVE IT. I do not claim to be an expert nor a designer, what I am is a gal who loves her home and always wants it to look pretty.
You may have noticed my mantlescape when I shared my wreath post in September, well while I was in love with the look I thought it needed a 2016 update. I mean honestly folks as much as re-using the decor every year is economical and practical sometimes we need a little change. I figured the orange, cream and black were a stunning contrast but maybe a tad bit Halloweeny. How could I upscale the decor without spending a ton. Luckily I was just at Blog Podium and Krylon was a sponsor. We were each provided with a can of metallic spray paint in our gift bags. I received an amazing rose gold can but sadly I had to give it away, apparently Air Canada doesn’t like spray cans in their cabins.
I hope the blogger I gave it to enjoyed it. Small tip when attending amazing blog conferences it is always better to drive just in case you receive amazing gifts.
So back to me, I immediately went to Michael’s and picked up a can of spray paint to try my hand at some Fall DIY. I selected a Gold Metallic figuring the impact of the orange , cream and gold were very seasonal ( and just possibly the cream and gold will work for the winter as well).
How pretty is the gold against the firelight?
The project is simple, gather a few decorations ( in this case pumpkins) that you think need to be upscaled. A roll of painters tape to protect the stems and a can of Krylon.
Place the objects on paper and spray away, I did not sand nor prep just went with a direct spray.
How pretty is this, and ready in just minutes.
