A Labour of Life was provided with a copy of #HashTagit from Kroeger Play but all views and opinions expressed are mine and my families.
#Hashtag for Family game night, it’s a “are you kidding me moment” in our household. We love our family games and we love our social media so given the opportunity to combine them both well, hello F.U.N.. The Mac-Cass house just got a new game and we cannot wait to test it out on the family.
Family Time Family Games
We have always been a family who loves our Board games. Throw in a holiday and inevitably everyone who attends will be challenged to a game. It started years ago for me, Christmas, Easter, finding that activity we would all love and enjoy and would keep us at the family table after dinner. Sequence was pick for several years, it was a game that covered all ages, Carly was 10, Nana was 80 and the rest of us well we were in-between. We search for games that cover many generations and can allow us some good clean fun.
As the kids got older we started looking for more challenging games, although the tried and true were still fun to play. One of our traditions when Kent and I got together was finding a new board game every Christmas. It was the new tradition we all looked forward to, a new game, family time and a chance to just celebrate what it meant to be together.
and yes we are all very competitive, and like to win.
Game night got expanded to beyond the holidays. Everytime we all get together we use games as the “excuse” to stay at the table and enjoy the moment. Even when the band comes to town we incorporate family game time. Seriously they are all family now.
Kroeger Games and A Labour of Life recently connected and we hit it off. I mean honestly how could I not become besties with all of these games. Kroeger sent me a copy of #Hastagit to try out. A perfect blend of family game, social media and a lot of yuk yuks.
The concept is relatively simple. Each round begins with a completely ridiculous photo. You decide which card in your hand has the best Hashtagit caption and you play it. If you are voted as having presented the best Hashtag you win the Picture Card! Play continues until one annoyingly lucky player gets 7 cards.
#Hashtagit contains 144 Picture Cards and 336 Hashtag Cards plus Instructions. The pictures are hilarious and depending on what cards you each have in your hand…. well let’s just say think outside the box. This is not a game for you and the little ones but it was totally perfect for our current household. All our kids are over 21.
Kent and I may have cheated and had a test run. The cards, the captions, the #hashtags all work towards creating a fantastic family night. Stay tuned for our next big holiday celebration. Christmas Day is going to be rocking in our house. (want a tip? pick up a copy for your adult kids and a few friends, they will not be disappointed).
