Ho HO HO it’s back, yep apparently this was my favourite sweater this holiday season. and Ho Ho HO I am back with another fun fashion post. Been a hot minute since I posted a straight up look what I am wearing story. I have been picoting and trying to expand the blog but never for a moment think the what I am wearing isn’t going to be shared.
Showcasing my Christmas Day Tulle Skirt and Sweater, because I can always find a reason to dress up and celebrate.
Holiday Style
Let’s talk the sweater first. Yes I do have like seven holidays sweaters but this one just is fun and comfortable and so versatile. You have seen me wear this with Bulb Skirts and Plaid Pants. I have worn it on it’s own and with shirts underneath. From Tulle to plaid it just seems to work.
On top of the versatility, it is not over the top on the Christmas front, and yes sometimes I like more subtle. The sweater is the perfect length to allow different styling and not overly bulky or heavy. Good golly I never ever thought I would ty and describe the versatility of a sweater on line, wine maybe but never a sweater lol.
My sweater was on after season sale from H&M a few years ago. Best $10.00 I ever spent. That is the sad part of an after Christmas lockdown, not getting to hit all my favourite stores for great sales.
Christmas Tulle Skirt
Can’t really be a full post if I don’t talk Red Tulle can it. Another great find from Shein many years ago. Sometimes you need to look for the fun and frivolous. Buy the tulle, purchase the sequins, just make sure the lines are classic. The pieces will last for years even if you only wear them once or twice a season.
I pull this skirt out for Christmas and for Valentines day. Dressing it up, wearing a sweater and once even with leather and leopard.
The best part of the skirt, OK second best because tulle is the best, elastic waist. Yep it has a half elastic waist so perfect for Holiday feasts, expansion room.
The Boots from Shoe Dazzle
My footwear of choice were Red Snakeskin boots. Purchased from Shoe Dazzle in 2019 but only seen once on the blog. I ordered these late last winter and wore them over the holidays. One little blog post that I shared and then we went into lockdown. My footwear changed last March so the boots languished in my closet.
My resolution for 2021, wear the shoes and boots even though I am still at home. I still need to showcase my footwear. True confession I donated 150 pairs of shoes and boots this year as a result of my work wardrobe changing.
Stay at home style is different so a lot of shoes were no longer needed. I felt I was better off donating vs hoarding them. Share the fun with those in my community.
Christmas Style and the Festivities
Now that we have dissected the look let’s talk the why. Why did I dress like this while at home? Well I always dress for Christmas Dinner, regardless of how many may be with us it is still an occasion to dress up. I find especially this last year, dressing for you has become even more important.
Do your hair, wear the makeup and dress for you. That doesn’t mean dress up, it means what makes you feel great. Fancy always makes me happy, but then again so does flannel Christmas PJ’s.
Christmas Day we like to get a little fancy to celebrate the day. ( and hey did ya check out my Christmas Sign, how to coming soon. The sign is seasonal reversible, WELCOME on one side and CHRISTMAS on the other and I made it myself)
Happy New Year from our home to yours and here is hoping that 2021 is a better year ( although it has not had the best start has it) Our traditional Christmas by the fireplace, one taken every year since we moved into this house (one year was in the Living Rom but all others have been right here in this spot.)
