Ever create something in real life and then never share it on the blog?  Who knew that was even a thing? OK yes for most people that is their actual life, live i not write it.  For me, I have become so use to sharing that living for me and in the moment sometimes disappears.  Well imagine my surprise when I stumbled upon my Hot Cocoa Bar of 2019.

Created, enjoyed but then never shared.  Good Golly Miss Molly, I lived in the moment.  Well truth be told last year we were dealing with stuff so maybe I just forgot.  Ironically 2020 has tossed more stuff on all of us, but it has reminded me live, share and enjoy are great mottos to live by.

Hot Cocoa Bar

2019 was a year where I wanted to savour the holiday and enjoy.  It seemed the perfect year to set up a little space to help with the Hallmark Movie Marathons.  What says Christmas movie more than Hot Cocoa in Christmas Mugs?  Well maybe a fun station to keep it all together.

Most years I turn the buffet into a magical Christmas Village but I decided to try something new. Hot cocoa and snacks at out fingers tips.  And maybe I was inspired after my Gals trip to Hobby Lobby.  OK no maybe I found the cutest signs that made me want to create a special area.

I also had gone craft crazy and wanted a fun place to display my creativity.

What Do You need for a Cocoa Bar

Setting up the Bar is simple and easy.  But first let’s gather what we need.  Remember just because I used something does not mean you cannot adapt to your taste.  AS an example a cookie jar can be something you have around, or even a clear container.

  • Christmas mugs
  • Cookie Jar
  • 3 jars for hot cocoa, candy canes and mini marshmallows
  • spoons
  • plates
  • kettle
  • napkins
  • decorations
  • Table or shelf

How to Create a Christmas Cocoa Bar

Again creating the space is as easy or as complicated as you want to make it.  It can be a corner shelf in your kitchen, a bookshelf emptied out or maybe an old unused microwave stand.  You are limited only by your imagination and the space you want to create.  Have a bar Cart, well clear it off for the holidays. Maybe the kids have an old bookshelf you can use.

  1. Find a space in your family room and kitchen to dedicate to the Hot Cocoa
  2. Fill three jars with cocoa, candy canes and marshmallows.  I used my apothecary jars but any plain clear jar works
  3. find a festive candy jar and fill with holiday favourites.
  4. set up the three jars and place them in the center of your work space. I made them the focal point of the top shelf
  5. Place some Christmas Coffee mugs near by
  6. add some festive plates
  7. some napkins
  8. add in some spoons
  9. step back and look at your setup
  10. does the flow make sense?
  11. Is there a plug close by for the kettle?
  12. If the flow works add in a few fun Christmas decorations.
  13. Step back and let the family enjoy
  14. take a seat and turn on your favourite Hallmark Christmas Movie.
  15. Merry Christmas

Enjoy the Season

There you have it the perfect little spot to use for family gatherings.  An excuse to forgot about what is happening out in the world.  Turn on the Hallmark Channel, or Disney or Netflix. Find a holiday movie, grab some hot cocoa and savour the moment together. This can alsom easily be converted to a festive Coffee Bar if you prefer.

Your jars look wonderful on your cocoa bar. I like the jar style and the J-O-Y you added to them. Everything looks very festive!
