I love showing my #candaianpride and have always been one to fly the flag all year round. Its one of the things I have always been most envious of my American Neighbours. Those born in the US have always been proud of who they are and where they come from. Canadians are proud too, we just do not seem to be able to show it as boldly.
Close to Canada Day, July 1st one can find a selection of Candian merchandise but until very recently finding it any other time of the year has been tough. I have always loved driving through the states and seeing the homes decked out in red, white and blue, no matter the time of year. They can get flags, banners, bunting.. you name it, it seems readily available. In Canada it has been traditional to fly your colours on the day of our birth and then push the spirit down until the next birthday happens. I love that we seem to be taking a page from our American cousins and now it is something to take pride in. Fly your flags proudly is the new motto.
For me, I fly the flag year round and then on the celebration of our birth I may get a little zealous…. just maybe a cover my yard in red and white and fly many a flag proudly.
Hoping where ever you were you had an amazing Canada Day Celebration. Our plans got changed because the weather gods decided it was time to play a little bit of bowling. if you follow me on snapchat (@cassidl) you will see what I was talking about.
