Today once again I am dressed in pink to #dressforthecause and proudly showing my support. I have been wearing pink every day in an attempt to really generate some attention to the cause. Honestly it does work, on Zoom meetings everyone has been noticing my colour of choice.
October is Breast Cancer Month
Reminding everyone that October is breast cancer awareness month. Two weeks ago I found out from a very dear friend that she has Breast cancer. I also lost another friend earlier this year to breast cancer. And FYI both of them far younger that I. If you recall I had already partnered with the Canadian Breast Cancer Society to try and raise awareness (and money) this month. The most recent news means I will be hammering you with facts. figures and please all month even more than I normally would. It started with my Wedding Outfits where I really outlined some cold hard facts.
As you know Cancer talk is not new to this blog, it has touched my life way to often, I have written about the impacts over the years. . For me talking helps and for the society fund raising funds helps even more. If you know me at all you will recall I always did the weekend to end Breast Cancer 60 km walk. Working with friends and colleagues every year to raise funds to support Breast Cancer Research as well as motivating me to stay healthy and in shape. This year I am raising funds through #dressforthecause, so feel free to hop over and donate.
In the Pink with Cleo
With more people working from home and students learning online, the society needed to created some fun new ways to help everyone get involved. If something is to hard or complicated it is less likely that people will want to participate. I find that they have really made it easy to fundraise and support research for the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of breast cancer.
I outlined it earlier this month and explained that every week was dedicated to “Dress Up” something. Week 4: Dress Up Yourself (ex. pink, pink, pink! Clothes, Halloween costumes).Well I for one have taken that to the extreme. If you watch my Instagram you will know that I have been in the PINK every day. Have you been participating?
Everyone is encouraged to share your progress on social media and invite your friends, family and colleagues to do the same. If you don’t feel like dressing up, no problem, you can simply donate to the cause!
Cleo and my Pink Suit
Now let’s get to some fun, dressing back up normal style. Well at least for me, this has been a double treat. While I do try to dress not is sweats when working at home, I have not been wearing real Office style. Taking the opportunity to not just wear pink but pretend I was actually going to an office where someone would see me.
I found this at my Local Cleos in Orleans a few weeks ago and I was so excited. Plus they were all on sale and then there was an additional markdown. You would not believe the total cost of the three pieces together. OK I’ll share 41.00 total cost can you believe it? The pieces are not on the website but head to your closet store. Plus when shopping in store you can make an additional donation to the #dressforthecause event.
A pink suit is something I have been wanting, now truth be told I was worried about the pants. I may or may not have gained a few pounds. BUTTT they are a great material that has stretch and the most comfortable pant I have work other than leggings. I loved the look of the cami underneath but am picturing other sweaters and blouses as the season changes.
My white boots finally came out of storage and heck yea even a necklace today.
