Guess what, it worked, Family Movie Night was awesome and I loved the movie and the boys made fun of the cheesiness the whole time but because of the sweet treats they still had a fun time.
The Ocean Water is Punch and Sparkling Water for the underage and some secret ingredients for the not so underage (recipe in a much later post) but the cupcakes are great for all ages.
For my cupcakes I used a recipe I found years ago on the internet with a small modification to make it shark chum
Shark Chum Cupcakes

- 1/4 c unsweetened cocoa
- 48 swedish fish Minimum)
- 3/4 c flour
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 3/4 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 c granulated sugar
- 1/2 c lightly packed brown sugar
- 1/3 c vegetable oil
- 2 tsp mexican vanilla I am very particular about my vanilla but you can use your preferred
- 1/2 C ROOM TEMPERATURE BUTTERMILK
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (177°C). Line a 24-cup muffin pan with mini cupcake liners.
- Whisk the cocoa powder, flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt together in a large bowl until thoroughly combined. Set aside
- In a medium bowl, whisk the eggs, granulated sugar, brown sugar, oil, and vanilla together until completely smooth.
- Pour half of the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Then half of the buttermilk. Gently whisk – about 5-6 stirs. Repeat with the remaining wet ingredients and buttermilk. The batter will be a little thin.
- Place a Fish in each Pour/spoon/scoop the batter into the liners – fill only halfway to avoid spilling over the sides. Bake in batches for 18-21 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Allow to cool completely before frosting.
- Frost and add another Swedish Fish as Garnish

Use Paper or cloth napkins, simply roll your utensils in a blue napkin and tie together with burlap string. Using a white circle candy, tie it with the burlap on to the napkin. Such a simple little craft/DIY that adds a special touch to your table.
