Celebrating the fresh start to a new work week in a J Crew Dress and my Target Gingham Trench. I mean are you surprised, black, white and more Gingham? I think I did warn you at the beginning of the season that I may have a new addiction and it’s name started with :G”. It seems a fun look for the start of the work week, Bit classic, perfectly office friendly but still a touch of fun.
Crazy Weekend
I had a crazy busy weekend, a lot of shopping, rearranging furniture inside and out and new tablescapes. Canada Day and Independence Day are both just around the corner so I really wanted to create some new tablescapes. You know life has been too busy when you realize that Memorial Day and Fathers Day both past without nary a thought for a new tablescape. This gal has obviously not had her priorities straight for a while.
I started searching through my blog for my previous versions of fun ables, funny that both Canada Day and Independence Day tables were always outside on my deck. OK not funny, we live outside in the summer so my dining Room usually ends up staying the same from May through till September/October. This year I thought I need to fix my Dining Room up with a few new seasonal tables.
Just as I am looking at sprucing up my table decor, Wikibuy contacts me to see if I was interested in working together. I started with Canada Day party supplies and then went into July 4th decor. I was able to find quickly and easily enough new decorations that my tables will be awesome. . Big hint don’t search Independence Day because you will get the movie, lol, I searched Memorial Day and it totally worked. Have you tried Wikibuy yet? Wikibuy operates as a website and Chrome extension that finds you the best deals across the web on products you love! They actually don’t sell the products, they just match you with the best prices- check out this video for a 60 second rundown: https://wikibuy.com/
But back on my homefront or blog front, stay tuned this week for some amazing new tablescapes. I am so excited to show you an inside table for both holidays.
For the rest of the weekend, Lou and I also had a gal’s night, chick flicks and wine, well wine for me(catnip for her). Finally watched Pitch Perfect 3. Soooooo what did you think? I have watched them all and although I love “musicals” and the cast, three was not my fav.
J Crew Dress in Black and White
This was the dress from J Crew I was mentioning last week. The perfect silhouette, classic black with a fun white stripe and of course pockets. It is a dress I wear often and I find the versatility is perfect. I love it with heels and even with my converse. Cardigans, blazers and fun coats are all a perfect match.
Do you have a fav dress? Is it the silhouette, the material, the style? I loved this one so much I purchased another one with smaller stripes, a J Crew mini stripe dress for the win
Gingham Trench from Target
And then we have my coat, the perfect gingham trench and guess what totally still available at Target. My one recommendation is sizing down, I am thrilled to be wearing a small, totally shocked but still thrilled. I almost didn’t try this on because of the tag size. Lesson learned, if you love it still try it on, you may be surprised.
I am loving the black ties around the arms and the solid tie belt. This is one of those classic styles in a fun pattern. A coat that will go casual or dressy and it so affordable it’s crazy.
The Shoe Dazzle Pumps
Let’s not forget the perfectly paired shoes, black and white converse for casual and the pumps for dressy. The shoes are from Shoe Dazzle, purchased a few years ago when they still often had what I call a reasonable heel height. Come on Shoe Dazzle give this gal a break 3 to3.5 is my max heel and you so rarely are offering me new selections lately.
