Well enter my Dining Room, a place I spend a lot of time in, as do many people who visit my home. Actually the dining room is the reason it took us so long to find a house we wanted because we so wanted a sit down formal dining room. I use this room a lot and I am relatively happy with it but I have to be honest the old light sure makes me feel like I have walked into my Nana’s house. That feeling had nothing to do with the fact I own all her Dining room furniture, china and silverware, lol. On a serious note I have always hated the light in this room, it seems dated and makes the room feel old. A light is a complicated purchase….. no seriously it is. One thinks it is easy but you have to understand the dynamics of your room, the use of the room and how it will balance without contrasting or clashing.
Well imagine my delight when I found out Home Depot was carrying a stunning line of LED lights. . Sure made me happy. I opted for a Pendant light and had the genius idea that I would hang all of the pendants before we put up the light ( hint, not a great idea wait to hang the light first and then attach the decorations). I spent time hooking all of the ” dangles” and then they all came off when we ran into a slight snag.
The light is stunning and I could not be happier with it but I will provide a small disclaimer, my table is slightly off center which means the light has to be attached via a second hook. The fixture is best intended to hang straight down so we had a bit of a delay in the installation getting it to hang properly. In hindsight I should have rearranged the dining room and let the light hang straight down, would have saved time, effort and swearing. ( the flush mount in the Hallway, flowing from lessons learned was a dream to install)
The light is beautiful and truly makes a statement, so much so that during our Open House everyone was commenting. Plus its LED so low cost and long life. My Pendant is available in store only but they do have some stunning ones available on line
Does it not cast the prettiest light? I am changing my table setting to the white and gold this weekend so I can’t wait to see how the light reflects on the new table setting
Thanks to Home Depot for partnering with me on updating my Dining Room and Hallway, although the light was provided my opinion of the lights is 100% mine
