Happy almost Valentine’s Day and I am celebrating the week in red with some LOVE. OK pretty corny I know but it’s a fun way to celebrate and make people smile. Another fun Valentine’s in Buffalo Plaid. It seems to be my uniform of choice lately.

Valentine’s Day Celebrations
Well as I have been whining all week, Kent is heading out of town. I know oh woe is me right? Well he surprised me with an early Valentine’s Day celebration. We hit a new to me restaurant in Ottawa. Brown’s Social house was hopping when we got there. Apparently Wednesday’s are uber popular.
No matter one should never be in a hurry when dining I think. First up drinks at the bar to “drink” in the ambiance. Midweek dinners before a vacation does not lend itself to many courses but we did enjoy ourselves. Kent started with the Fire Roasted Tomato Soup as I sipped on a Pinot Noir. We all make choices lol.
We both selected Tacos with the delicious french fries. Mine, obviously fish and Kent’s crispy chicken. A great way to celebrate together. Honestly words can not describe the tastiness of the meal. Well yeah words do describe but tonight they are not flowing well for me, probably the Pinot Noir haha. On a serious note a lovely meal with amazing service.
Buffalo Plaid or Lumberjack Check
Red and black check is that buffalo plaid or lumberjack check? Well if you are a fashionista I think the proper term is “Buffalo plaid” the cool title. If you are Canadian , it has always been lumberjack. The traditional red and black check often seen when chopping wood. Or if you happen to live in Ottawa the team colours of the Canadian Football Team the Red Blacks.
My sweater was a great find at the Bay several years ago. It is so versatile and pretty much suitable for any look. White jeans really show up the colours, a plaid skirt offers a fun contrast and even skinny jeans or distressed jeans add different dimensions. Today I went with a solid black Ponte Pant from Giant Tiger. A fun pair of booties and a fun red necklace. Plus an awesome messy bun scrunchie to make the hairstyle easy.

An adorable outfit, Linda! I’m so glad you and Kent got to celebrate before he went out of town. I had to laugh: buffalo plaid vs lumberjack. I wonder how the name buffalo plaid cane about?

I love the shape of the sweater! I have seen a lot of pullover buffalo plaid sweaters but nothing as interesting as your sweater. What a great find. Sounds like a nice evening with the hubby, we went out this week in style and it was fun to be adults and not just parents.

Linda, I love this sweater! And the red plaid with your red snakeskin booties is perfection. Plus how cute are the little ties on your pants! And you dinner sounds lovely. I have not been out to eat in a really long time, but I am starting my vacation today so I am sure I will dine out often during my travels. I copied your black and white plaid dress look today! I will link it here.
