Kind of cool when one of my all time favourite Pub/Bar/Restaurants in Ottawa teams up with MealShare. Are you aware of MealShare and the work they do? Mealshare is an award-winning giving program that takes place in restaurants, allowing diners to provide a meal to a youth in need just by ordering a Mealshare branded menu item from the menu. Buy a meal, give a meal.
FYI This is not a sponsored post although I have been invited out to an event to learn a bit more about the program. In the meantime a little show of community conscience as this is a cause I truly believe in, and am ashamed I am just learning about.
It is pretty dang exciting to realize that over 20 of Ottawa’s best restaurants are launching Mealshare in June and they are also bringing on the Parkdale Food Centre’s after school program as a third charity partner.
Amazing things are happening in our fair city folks. They are really growing here in the Nation’s Capital and together making a serious impact on youth hunger!
Tonight Kent and I are heading to the Heart and Crown because Mealshare is not only celebrating its biggest expansion to date with the twenty new restaurants coming on board but also to welcome one of their newest partners, The Heart & Crown in the Byward Market. Stay tuned for tomorrow when I bring you all the exciting things I discover but in the meantime if you are heading out to dinner……
