Well made it through Monday and now we head until Tuesday, anyone else getting pretty darn tired of the weather? Better yet anyone getting tired of hearing me whine about the weather? It’s June 6th, seriously crazy. Today I got ready for work, put on a skirt ( from Ming Wang) and then realized it’s Monday and rainy/cold. The office after being empty all weekend will be frigid. So Pants came out yet again.
No matter how much I check the weather app it doesn’t change. OK true enough I totally was not looking at the weather app. I messed up with my new canon and it did not come with Infared for a wireless remote. I swore my next camera had to have wireless and remote and darn it, I did not look close enough.
On a positive note there is an app that I can use to take pictures. I have been ignoring it because I thought how many outfit pictures holding my phone could I take. Cool fact the timer delay still works so it gives me time to hide the phone. Bonus fact is the camera will actually focus on me. I just read the best post from Jennie over at Pocketful of Polka Dots. Jennie wrote about her Selfie pictures when taking outfit shoots. Well she had a way better title that sounds more professional but it’s still a selfie right? I follow the same process with a few exceptions. The time I take, the equipment I use, the total lack of camera skills I possess… Jennie’s pictures are amazing. I hope one day to get a comparable result but first I need to get out of auto.
I have a Canon Rebel T6, considered by most to be a very base model. I like it, and I really liked the price point. Am I the only blogger out there that is el cheapo when it comes to purchasing equipment? I so wish I could convince myself to drop 1300-2000 but it just won’t happen. Well possibly if I get really good with my pictures I might. I am kicking myself on the remote capability, really I am. I think after reading Jennie’s post it makes a total difference in the focus. Hoping that with a bit more practice with the cell phone remote that I can start playing with my aperture and ISO. See I am slowly learning the terms.
A post about my favourite photographers is looming. I can feel it. Off hand on a fashion front Jennie is tops and then followed closely by Debbie. I know they both take their own pictures. I take my own as well but because I have no remote I sometimes get the out of focus look.
Food wise my all time favourite is Stacey from Simply Stacey, man that woman makes me drool just looking at her pictures. One day I hope to be able to come close to those I admire in my photo skills.
Tell me first six are in the afternoon with remote, rest are morning with ten second timer, think I should keep working with the remote? Is there a difference?
Ignore awkward pose, still figuring out what to do with phone, maybe toss it in the garden after each shot LOL.
Morning pictures with the self timer, works well if I take my time and there is no wind or obstruction.
Ming Wang Sweater (C/O) with an H & M Cami and my Venheusen Hepburn pants. I love my Sam Edelman shoes with this look, they are called Circus, aren’t they fun. Plus my 7 Charming Sisters Necklace that is on repeat this week.
