Try not to judge me to harshly folks. I know it’s September 20th and officially pumpkin spice season but it’s 30+ degrees. This gal is not prepared to say goodbye to summer when summer is not saying goodbye to me. Are you a hold on to summer person or a give me pumpkin spice asap? I am giving the Old Navy Eyelet Maxi one last go before booties and scarves take over my life.
Old Navy Eyelet Maxi and a Return to Summer
It has truly been a crazy summer, beautiful sunshiny days and no end in site. Well not actually true looks like the end will be upon us soon enough but for today it is still summer. Now truth be told I did not wear this today but it seemed a great time to share the look. I have a fun new black and white look from today but who wants to waste a great summer look, not this gal. This was one of those outfit looks I fully intended to share last week while I was at TBEX, but who had time for blogging at a blogging conference.
Let’s talk look first, this maxi ( 2015 as an example) was on constant repeat a few years ago and then it got retired (temporarily). I can not tell you why I retired it, except maybe I gained a few pounds and it looked different. 2018 was a year for tossing the pounds away and re-shopping my closet. I adore the colour and the fun eyelet pattern, well I may keep this around for a little longer.

White Linen Cardigan
Because I work in an office and air conditioning is an issue I added my white linen cardigan. It is lightweight enough to be OK outside as a sun screen but keep me warm inside. A fun floral wedge from Walmart completed the look. They are actually thrifted from the Salvation Army, gotta love a great find. A fun summer look for a non summer season.
As an FYI don’t expect too many more summery style, I am heading back to Yellowknife next week and it’s been snowing for three days. How depressing is that.

I love cooler and colder weather there’s no doubt about it but I appreciate Summer for what it’s worth. So I don’t want to wish Summer away for those folks that love the heat. It’s still pretty hot in my neck of the woods so this maxi dress will work! Love the eyelet details and the baby blue color is beautiful. Happy Friday!

Such a lovely maxi dress. I’m definitely a hold-on-to summer gal. I also believe in dressing for the weather and not the calendar!

I love fall too, but think everyone needs to calm down—it’s still in the 70s where I live, and by February or March, we will be so tired of boots and sweaters and coats! Love that you’re dressing for the actual weather!

Linda, this is so pretty on you! I love the baby blue color on you and the eyelet is a pretty detail. I have been wanting to wear Fall clothes, but yes it is still warm here in the South too.

Pretty eyelet maxi! Isn’t it fun to shop your closet and fall in love with old favorites again?

I think we are WAY smarter to dress for the weather it really is instead of trying to hurry fall along!!

Linda, you look fabulous! This dress is very different from your typical style, but I really love it! The maxi length is so pretty and whimsical the way it flows to the ground. And how cute are those wedges especially with your green pedicure! Just darling, my friend!

You look great in that dress. I have a maxi from Old Navy that has that same exact cut, just different fabric and I bought it a few years ago too. I’ll bet they’re both from the same line. Old Navy comes out with some real winners sometimes and at such great prices.
