Annual Open House Celebration
It has been 12 years since we started the tradition. Every year I feel slightly exhausted by the end of the event but when I reflect back I feel rejuvenated. Reflecting on the friends and family that pass through the doors cannot make one feel anything but loved.
We can have anywhere from 40 to 80 guests drop in during the day. This year we had about 50 people stop by. It is such a lovely tradition and one anticipated by many. It is the time we all get to catch up on what we have been doing since summer ended. Work colleagues meet family, neighbours reconnect and overall we realize Ottawa is still a small town
Giant Tiger and our Open House
If you have been following my Inst Stories you may recall this year I partnered with Giant Tiger. It seemed like such a natural pairing. me, GT and food and entertaining, I mean hello like wine and cheese we just go together.
I have always been a #GTboutique gal so imagine when I started realizing not just clothes but groceries and home stuff and party supplies all could be found there.
Back in November Kent and I went to a Grand Opening of the St Laurent Store and we were very impressed with the food. They served the most delicious meatballs and appetizers and it sparked an idea. How cool would it be to serve food from Giant Tiger at the Open House.
Giant Tiger Groceries
I reached out to Giant Tiger and they were thrilled to partner together. They provided a huge variety of appetizers, cheese and snacks. I even managed to pick up most of my baking supplies for all the tantalizing baked goods I serve.
Have you checked out the grocery section of Giant Tiger yet? Me, I am totally partial to the St Laurent location. Fresh food, fresh meat and all brand spanking new.
Caution, pretty photo heavy but I could not wait to share all I served.
PS some of the plates were not filled yet, hot appetizers in the oven and I wanted pictures before the guests arrived. Real life problems for many a blogger.
Maybe a tad cheesy but this year I actually used the labels off the appetizers for the guests. Easy to identify what was being served and also a great shout out to show the Giant Value label when I could.
Thank you Giant Tiger for always recognizing and providing- For You, For Less and as they like to brag 100% Canadian Owned Eh!

I don’t think using the food label was cheesy at all. 50 people to host for is still a lot of people to have in your house. Have a great weekend.
