Happy Humpday for most of you, although a tad late. It was a record -40 with the windchill last week so I gave the pictures a bit of a rest. Plus we had a major snowstorm so lots of snow. Flashing back to the previous week when I thought it was frigid and needed to wear a Pink Fur Vest. Last week winter really started hitting hard, the perfect days for fur and of course pink
Winter in Canada
Let’s talk weather first shall we. Good gosh -40 with the windchill is awful. To give you an idea of what that means it is the same in Fahrenheit and Celsius (pretty much). There is a major frost bite warning. Frost bite in minutes, that is what they are stating on the TV.
Add to that 28 cm’s of snow ( almost 12 inches) well I think winter is here. Oh good gosh I miss the days when I would be planning a cruise or already sailing on the high seas. What does winter look like where you are? Do you have snow and cold?
Winter Wear in A Pink Fur Vest
How does one even dress for weather like this? Well fur helps, honestly it does. -40 temperatures mean no dresses, I mean that would be crazy right?. Layers are necessary because buildings can be warm and outside is cold. Offices in Canada are notorious for bad temperature fluctuations. Furnaces get turned down on weekends so Mondays can be chilly. Plus can anything keep a building warm when it is this cold?
Even working at home hasn’t helped, I work in the basement so cold days are cold office days still.
This fur vest was a Forever 21 find two years ago. I haven’t worn it a lot maybe because we luckily don’t get -40 too often. OK that is not true at all, we often get -40 but that is usually when I head South. I do adore this vest, fake fur is almost as warm and toasty as the real stuff.
How do you wear a Pink Fur Vest
I usually tend to wear the pink with black, seems to make it more office friendly. Today I went with a fun pair of paper bag waist pants from Giant Tiger. A few years ago GT Boutique teamed up with Simon Chang and came out with some amazing pieces, including these pants.
The pants and long sleeve Henley made this weather appropriate and office suitable. I added my leopard booties from K-Mart and a fun necklace.
For outside walking I actually added a hat. I found this one at Shoe Dazzle and love it. Big tip, sock buns and knit hats do not go well together. I looked like a cone head person lol. And yea I did not include cone head pictures of me. It is my blog so I can still only post good pics of me right?
