Truly everything old is new again isn’t it? I was watching a morning TV show last week and they were discussing all the great things from the 80’s and 90’s that are back in Vogue. Well you could have knocked me over when the issue of Scrunchies came up. I mean hello what gal of the 80’s didn’t own a scrunchie in every colour?
The 80’s Called they want their scrunchie back
This weekend I went shopping at Forever 21 and guess what they had? Yep scrunchies in every colour imaginable. Well I just had to toss one in my bag. And now I seriously think I need more. Scrunchies were the perfect hair accessory along with banana clips. I also hear caboodles are making a big comeback as are jelly shoes. Ok totally making the Jelly shoes part up but the rest is for real.
There is a true art to wearing a scrunchie properly. There are three traditional styles 1) the high top ponytail 2) the half pony tail or 3) the messy bun. I have always been the messy bun fan. It is really easy. Gather hair in your hands without a mirror, add scrunchie to the pony, single loop. Then grab the middle of the pony, twist scrunchie and pull through. There you have it messy bun extraordinaire. (don’t overthink it, leave it as is) I may need to create a you-tube video for this one. Were you a scrunchie queen? Are you prepared for this trend to come back? Along with neon yellow a scrunchie was one of my favourite looks I am ready to embrace again.
Todays outfit in cream and fur
My outfits lately are a shop- my closet for winter pieces I have not worn in awhile and hopefully will be putting away soon. I try to live by the philosophy of if you haven’t worn it , then give it away each season. April is traditionally my month of “oh I haven’t worn that yet”. They are the pieces I really want to keep but ma not have worn so out they come. Today’s top and vest have appeared before, together, with other pieces and separate.
The top and Vest are both from Dresslink and I just realized I need to add this shop back on my check out list. Great pieces for crazy prices. Anyhoo…. back to the outfit wearing my Michael Kors Leggings and my Navy OTK Boots from Shoe Dazzle. Normally I stick to black and cream but I am digging the navy. The necklace was from Urban Planet.
