This guy just turned one and what a fun party he had. Although a really big Hockey and Soccer fan, it was tough to find age appropriate party supplies. Mom and Dad opted for Mickey because hey who doesn’t love Mickey. We had to stick to a slight theme because maybe I found him the most amazing[amazon_textlink asin=’B001JFQ2G6′ text=’ Senators Jersey’ template=’ProductLink’ store=’alabouroflife-20′ marketplace=’CA’ link_id=’fe060948-b02b-11e7-8085-15748740f7b5′][amazon_link asins=’B01AVWPVLE’ template=’ProductLink’ store=’alabouroflife-20′ marketplace=’CA’ link_id=’116c291d-b02c-11e7-bc16-314cc66606ff’].
The Cake
Sebastians Paternal Grandmother ( with him in his Sens Jersey) is taking a cake decorating course so she offered to make the birthday cake. It was a bit of a challenge as it had to be dairy free. She did an amazing job of depicting Mickey and the taste was awesome. A Chocolate Non Dairy Birthday cake. He did not have a smash cake nor did he want to play in it. I think he was more fascinated with the [amazon_textlink asin=’B01AVWPVLE’ text=’candles.’ template=’ProductLink’ store=’alabouroflife-20′ marketplace=’CA’ link_id=’b3f8fc6c-b02f-11e7-b681-b949c0109b07′]

Mickey’s Birthday Bash-Minnies Candy Bar
We set up a little candy bar beside the cake for snacking, and everyone was invited to supplement their treat bags. I think including a candy bar should be mandatory at every event. Kids love it and so do adults. It’s like a free pass to indulge in treats you may not normally purchase.

Mickey’s Birthday Bash-Mickey’s Buffet
There is no question Carly has inherited my love of Pinterest and fun parties. She developed the menu around the Mickey theme. Mickey’s Clubhouse Sandwiches, Hot diggity Dogs, Donalds Cheese and Quakers, Daisy’s Garden and Veggie Salad, Chip & Dales Chip and dip and Toodles Bowtie Pasta. We used a variety of red and black to create a fun Mickey Theme table.
Kent was impressed because Club sandwiches and salads are far more substantial than the normal Atlantic Party/Shower Themes. He still cannot get use to the fact we love our funny little sandwiches at church events.
I did try to fix the food labels up with Pic Monkey because they did not show up well in the pictures but it seemed fake so back I went to the Original slightly off signs. . I used a Crayon to create them, which made for a far simpler craft when traveling on the road. The party was a Plane ride away

My Helpers
Charles and Eli my two eldest nephew’s helped out with the decorating. We created centrepieces using Sebastians reading books and added a few Mickey silhouettes. We then added colouring pages and crayons to each table as a fun extra activity. Charles was preparing our placemats for each round table. he was very helpful.
Eli decided we needed stickers at each table and volunteered for that activity. ( Excuse the dark but he was just too cute getting everything so perfect for his cousin)

Keeping in mind the party was for a one year old and the age range of guests may vary we included reading and colouring activities. Sebastian’s already vast library allowed us to create a fun backdrop to the silhouettes plus everyone could read a story if they got bored. The colouring pages were a huge hit plus make a very inexpensive decoration.
Presents and Treat Bags
Treat bags were created mimicking Mickey’s body. Its a very inexpensive add on to red bags. I used felt but coloured paper and even paint would allow you to recreate this look. Each bag was filled with age appropriate toys and treats. As the bags were open at the top it was easy for us to identify an appropriate bag for each child.
Sebastian loved opening his presents and his cousins loved testing out the toys. Mom and Dad were almost as excited as my little Sea Bass.
His Aunts Jen and Stac made him the most amazing large Chunky knit blanket. He immediately stopped opening his presents to test run the gift.
Overall I think this cutie loved his party and visiting with all his family.
