Tis almost the eve of St Patrick’s Day. A time when the green is the norm. Pots of Gold are sought at the end of each rainbow and shamrocks are everywhere. My fascination for tablescapes and napkin folds does not escape this holiday. Shamrock Napkins adorn my table along with wee pots of gold.
The four leaf clover or shamrock napkin is a relatively easy napkin to replicate. A step by step guide will assist you in creating the cutest decoration for your table. An easy way to make your guests feel very special.
Shamrock Napkin Fold
Take a square napkin, you may want to iron it to make the folding easier. I appear quite lazy on that front
Fold each corner towards the center but do not worry about making it perfect
Once the four corners have been folded towards the middle, we will now fold the four corners in one more time.
The key is ensuring that we maintain a square.
Once a square is created , you will need turn the napkin over to achieve a solid surface.
Now that you have a solid square, you will now fold each corner back into the middle
This is the most awkward stage as it is critical to keep the four corners in the middle, I usually use my hand to hold it in place. Lightly hold the four corners in the middle as you follow the next step.
This is probably the most awkward step to try and describe but hopefully you can follow along.
We will now reach under each corner and slowly bring out the folded corner, creating a leaf.
Once the four corners are folded back out it appears to form the four leafs of the shamrock.
I like to add a bit of Irish Decor, today I am using the wee pots of gold
.
In case you are a visual person I created a small youtube video for your viewing pleasure.
