Skeleton Animal Halloween Mantle
The ultimate focal point for Halloween festivities, Halloween parties or just cozying up on the couch after a long day. Plus big bonus, most of my Halloween mantel decor was under $5.00 can you believe it? I had so much fun putting it together, and absolutely love how it turned out. Since this room is not just where we spend a lot of time as a family but my actual office too, I wanted it to feel fun and exciting.
Let’s start with the Garland strand, not $2.00 but a great find. 2019 after Halloween sale at Micheals. I picked this up with the intent of creating a fun Halloween Wreath. Fast forward to Fall 2020 and a new mantle and a new idea was born.
It All started with a Skeleton Cat
I like to say it started with the cat or I like to think so. Actually it was the Skeleton Dog, I saw a fun display with the skeleton Dog and I desperately wanted a skeleton cat. I searched everywhere and then settled for the Dog. I found it at the Dollarama. I created a fun Halloween porch and forgot about the cat.
And then I found it tucked away on the bottom shelf of another Dollarama. I also later found it a Micheals. Darn skeleton Cats, bats and rats are everywhere now. Regardless I now had a match set and they seemed perfect with the Halloween Garland.
Additional Creep Factor
I was happy with the decor until I found the “Got my Eyes on You sign” and I had to have it. I also found a bag of plastic eyeballs and filled up a metal tin. They just seemed the perfect ghoulish addition. Two fake candles on wooden crates balanced off the Cat side and my mantle was complete.
I left my antique latterns in the middle because they seemed to suit the vibe I was creating. Fun, spooky with a twist of gothic. Not sure if I achieved it but I hav to say I am happy with it. When I get busy during the work day a quick glance to my right brings a smile to my face.
Crazy deals and Fun Ideas
True confession I picked up the sign and eyeballs with a total different intent. Truly the eyeballs were going to be part of a ghost wreath I was going to make. I thought it would be a quick and easy craft. The sign well I wanted the wood shape and planned on painting over it and adding a printable. That’s my new addiction, printables and modpodge.
I got home and as soon as I realized what the sign said and I looked at the eyeballs I knew what I had to do. Another fun addition to the mantle. Dare to inject your personal style….whether it be whimsical, scary, colorful and bold, or neutral….even with Halloween decorations!
Embrace the celebration or rather the festivities. I Don’t recall decorating the mantle in previous Halloweens but I have created fun tables and wreaths and maybe a Bar Cart or two.
Skeleton Animals and Fun Decor
Why the fascination with skeleton animals, hmmm I do not know but they sure are fun. I even shared them on pinterest sharing a Can of Stray Dog Autumn Ale. (here). Last year I moved them from room to room creating fun displays. 2020 they are my work companions.
